The neighbor doing "free" weeding is probably closest to the truth. I live in a pretty nice house that is sort of eye-catching (lots of people know the house). The prior owners spent an absolute fortune on landscaping, that I have not kept up in the same way. Anyway, this woman drives by my house every day and she told me that she and her husband are always commenting on what they would do with the landscaping. I think once she met me, she saw the opportunity to actually do what she would like.

She's a little OCD. Sort of like me with misspellings and grammar, but with weeding. She can't help it - and who am I to decline free landscaping services?

I vote 30s because a) it is damn near impossible to carry on a conversation with a woman of less than 28 without realizing that they were in a single digit age when I graduated high school, b) generally speaking, women in their 30s are more interested in sex and actually know what they want, c) I generally like the physical appearance of women in their 30s who keep themselves in shape (it's easier to tell who is going to let themselves go, because people who are inclined that way will already show evidence).

That said, I'm clearly more interested in their personalities and brain and am not attempting to objectify women. Further, I realize that this is all an academic debate and the real attraction to me is that people under 30 call me "Sir" which makes me feel old.

Lets see if I can kill the board.

Porn-Hating Blue Elephant Visits Galveston

Yep, you read that correctly. Sunday morning an inflatable blue elephant visited Bridge Community church in Galveston. The elephant is part of National Porn Sunday campaign which is trying to battle the multibillion dollar Porn industry. All bad puns aside, the 25ft inflatable blue elephant is a symbol of the “elephant in the pew,” said J.R. Mahon, pastor of XXXChurch.com, which spearheads the National Porn Sunday movement. Although their website name seems a bit askew, the group claims that 47 percent of Christian families say porn is a problem in their home, and 40 million people look at Internet porn daily. By addressing the problem in the church, the group is taking a proactive approach by reinforcing family values.

In addition to raising awareness among churches, XXXChurch.com pastors also attend pornography shows (interesting?) and pass out Bibles to participants, in an effort to help actors get out of the business. “We need to turn people’s heads and use big language and outrageous methodology to get public attention,” said Mahon. “We make no excuses or apologies for that.”

After leaving Galveston on Sunday, the Blue Elephant continues the fight against the porn on a world tour.

I think I'm becoming a curmudgeon. This phone doesn't interest me at all. I read books on trains/planes, so I don't need movies (and how many good movies are made each year? Two?). I'm on the web enough at work, so I don't need additional intrawebs. I'm already a blackberry addict, so I don't need anything more addictive.

I have an 80GB Ipod with video. and will eventually upgrade my cell. I'm really not seeing why I should buy an IPhone with 8 GB of storage. I heard it does not support Java and the touch screen is awkward while texting and the internet screen is so small you see slivers of internet. Dunno. Not seeing price equaling worth it to me.
