Plagarism's back. Cool.
And, note to Gwinkée, I would have taken it as a compliment. Except, perhaps for the disturbing part.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. A good doctor could take care of that.

I uttered a "heretofore" once before I caught myself.
And congratulations, Paigow!

Upopn further reflection, I've decided I don't really disagree with this. There are a lot of similarities: the slight differences in accent indistinguishable to outsiders, the smaller, better educated, cleaner population, the more liberal politics, the lunatic fringe living in the eastern part that speak a different language. Works for me.
Of course, when Marylanders travel we don't pin a Maryland flag to everything so that those we encounter won't mistake us for Virginians.

How to get even with the French
Open a Starbucks of course.
Starbucks opens first coffee shop in Paris
Starbucks - frappuchino this
Another outlet opens Monday in the La Defense business district, the second of about 10 planned for Paris over the next year.
Ah yes, the takeover begins.

Because we'll eventually need something else to talk about today, I give you the Top Six Words or Phrases that Immediately Out You as a Lawyer or Former Lawyer if Used in Normal Conversation.*

For what it's worth
Normally, I wouldn't post this here, but I just received this e-mail. I'm not sure if it's legit or not, so that said:
Subject: FW: UPS ALERT
Importance: High
UPS ALERT
Please pass this around.
Government Warning regarding purchase of UPS uniforms:
There has been a huge purchase, $32,000 worth, of United Parcel
Service (UPS) uniforms on eBay over the last 30 days.
This could represent a serious threat as bogus drivers (terrorists)
can drop off anything to anyone with deadly consequences!
If you have ANY questions when a UPS driver appears at your door, they should be able to furnish VALID I.D.
Additionally, if someone in a UPS uniform comes to make a drop off or pick up, make absolutely sure they are driving a UPS truck. UPS doesn't make deliveries or pickups in anything, except a company vehicle.
If you have a problem, IMMEDIATELY call your local law enforcement agency right away!
TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY! Tell everyone in your office, your family, your friends, etc. Make people aware so that we can prepare and/or avoid terrorist attacks on our people!
Thank you for your time in reviewing this and PLEASE send to EVERYONE on your list, even if they are friend or foe. We should all be aware!

ALL of the EXCLAMATION POINTS and CAPITALIZATION make me a BIT SKEPTICAL!
Perhaps some entrepreneur is buying them to resell them to the kids, but what do I know?
You've been WARNED!

I assume the NYC FBers are the exception to the rule
Why do most big shot* NY lawyers seem like such useless tools? Is this learned through some sort of mentoring program?
*in their own minds, of course. mainly the 6-12 year senior associate/junior partner types.

If I may "pile on" my best wishes. My very best to you and your groom, Paigow, in your life together and in everything.
And, on a separate note, a thank you to Mr. Ramone for the idea for my new avatar. The FB always comes through!

According to Snopes, it's not true. http://www.snopes.com/rumors/ups.asp

I just can't get over the fact that we're referring to Billups as a point guard without using scarequotes.
