Summer TV

Some time ago I might have wrote that I was excited about the "Web-isodes" of The Office. Now that the first two are available for viewing, I hereby wish to retract that previous statement.

Angela, Kevin and Oscar can't carry the load. Plus I think the writers might have delegated this one to the kid straight out of college, or the office drunk, or perhaps, the receptionist who struggles with English.

Thank God for David Milch and Deadwood, a profane oasis in an otherwise vast wasteland.

I'd been watching TV recently and wondered, "Why are these shows on? Are people really crying out for reruns of Becker?"

There's just nothing worth watching except Deadwood, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report. Even the "lost" episodes of Chappelle's Show are a disappointment. I've read the articles and seen the interviews, and I'm not satisfied with his reasons for leaving the show. Granted, I'm not his target audience, or maybe I am and Dave is uncomfortable with that.

My friend from Portland raves about this http://fuse.tv/upload/pantsoff.php?11 Pants Off dance Off- It's on something called Fuse TV which my cable doesn't have- the home page for Fuse is pretty much all Warped Tour videos so maybe it's a music channel?

Anyway PODO is normal people (old/fat/midgets) stripping then viewers phone in to vote for the winner. there is a feature where you can vote for who dances on upcoming shows.

do you get Fuse?

here's the all time top vote getter.....

and it looks like no nudity

I heart pants off dance off, it is pure comedy. Funny funny stuff. One guy was like, rocker dude dancing to "Hot for Teacher" so funny.

Summer Music

What new music are people listening to?

Since I just recently hopped on the iPod boat, I have acquired a bunch of new music. The best probably are:

Sonic Youth, Rather Ripped -- particularly the song, Incinerate.

Magnolia Elecric Orchestra, What Comes After the Blues -- just got this on Saturday and it's already a favorite.

Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris, All the Road Running -- ditto.

Right after Deadwood is Entourage, an incredibly funny show despite its self-absorption. I also really like House. As for television in general, what can you say about a people who make "Two and Half Men" the most popular comedy on network tv?

Much like government, in a democracy people pretty much get the television they deserve.

I like House also. And when in a pinch, there are always Law & Order re runs. The Closer isn't bad either.

AoN, was in Sbux, heard remake of "The Heart of the Matter" by a woman. Tried to Google it, little success any idea of the artist?

Also, did anyone see that follow-up to the Christie Brinkley split her husband was running around with a 19 year old? WTF?

"Sbux"? You have got to be fucking kidding me. This is one Penske sock that needs to be over. Like, yesterday.

I've seen a couple episodes of Entourage, but I keep hearing that it sucks this year. I saw one laugh-free episode of Lucky Louie and haven't needed to return to that poisoned well.

September brings new episodes of The Wire, so I've got that going for me. I didn't mind this season of The Sopranos, though I fear that next year's season of the L Word will be awful.

By the way, how has Mad TV stayed on the air for 10+ years? Now it's on Comedy Central in huge blocks. I have a friend who thinks it's funny, but I'm pretty sure she only watches it when she's high.

Entourage does suck this year. I don't know exactly why -- all of a sudden they have become grating. Deadwood, on the other hand, I am just getting hooked on right before it gets canceled. I really like the over-the-top poetic dialogue. Fuckers.

str8's got NUTHIN, I tell you

Forget LA - my little corner of New England is a HOTBED of celebrity sightings. Why, just this morning, I ran into that frog-faced woman from Third Rock from the Sun. After exchanging pleasantries, I couldn't resist adding, "In your FACE, Kermit -- you wanted my house, but I GOT IT FIRST!!"

heh.

We're real friendly-like up here.

sorry hon, no luck. Mine was playing that new Corinne Bailey Rae joint this morning, but really all I cared about was getting my triple shot extra dry skinny cap, which was aces when it finally came.
