Paigow,
Your signature line reminds me that the season finale of Last Comic Standing is tomorrow night. Remember it's on an hour earlier.
My only wish for this show was to have seen more comedy and less working for exemptions. There should have been an elimination each week, but everyone should have been working. So what if we've heard the jokes before - some of them were funny.

So does the winner tomorrow night get to do more than a 5 minute set? What are they going to do for 2 hours?

Non-running related knee surgery over ten years ago. Well, soccer related, but not running-forward-to-race related. I didn't start running until 2000...

It's merely a flesh wound.

That's funny. Yo mama doesn't even bathe and she always has balls in her throat.

You know the answer to this question. There will be 90 minutes of flashbacks to prior episodes, a bunch of commercials, a shameless plug for the next reality show, and 5 minutes of new material.

I can't coast a 2:58. I have to be in pretty good shape for it. But yeah, Boston wasn't a very good excuse...

I think I'm just lazy.

Too bad there is no huge ego boost out of getting the guy who always runs every stop sign in my neighborhood, or the tow trucks drivers who come through at 70 mph (seriously), runnning all the stop signs, so they can get to a tow.
How about the laws that directly affect most people's lives?

Sorry, just trying to impress pretermitted child.

On the driving thing, I am more likely to go fucking ballistic on those bilmore-esque SUV drivers that park in compact car spaces than on anyone else. Short quiz - are you compact? are you a car? If the answer to both of those questions is no, then stay the fuck out of those spots!

Hey, it's not just SUV's in those spots. I see a lot more fucking minivans (the scourge of my existence) in those spots. Because those people are too fucking lazy to walk an extra 10 feet - oooh because it would kill them. Me, personally, I would never cram my SUV in a compact spot because I'm not wanting to pay the dent guy $80 to take another minivan-related door ding out of my vehicle.

Some more advice that's worth every penny you paid:

1. Once the shin splints heal, get new running shoes. Buy them someplace where the sellers actually know about running and tell them about your shin splint problems. They should ask to see you walk barefoot. They should also be able to tell you the approximate number of miles you can get from the shoes before needing to replace them.
2. Once you have the new shoes, build up mileage gradually. Start with 2 miles, for example, and add more time/distance each week.
3. Try to run on softer surfaces off the pavement whenever possible.
4. Stretch, especially at the end of the run. Make sure you are stretching all the muscles in your legs.

At least, this is what worked for me. A few years ago, I got shin splints so bad it felt like I had two badly fitted peg legs when I tried to run for a bus.

Why, just out of curiosity, would I park my MegaBeHemothXX in some tiny little spot made for bikes and Neons and Prii? That would seem sort of . . . dumb.

The ones I'm talking about are the Canyonero massive things that ensure that no one other than a scooter will be able to use the spot next to them. The small SUVs (station wagons on steriods) and minivans usually are narrow enough to allow others to use the available spots. I just can't understand why a driver would think that they deserve to take away 2 spots that could be used by other poeple with their vehicles. Inflated sense of importance much? Honestly I don't see many minivans here in flashy-car central though, so maybe I'm misremembering.

I agree with everything you said except for the above. I've been told (and I concur) that, with the right shoes, you should be able to run 12 right out the box. If you have to break them in, then they're not the right shoes for you.

I caught it on Com Central. Missed Ralphie but saw the rest. I think Dat Phan is gonna win assuming people vote only on that performance. While his act is getting stale for me since I have seen it like seven times now, it is probably pretty damned funny for first timers. Vos was okay (what is with his white teeth?), Corey was also funny, and Tess was inaudible.

Bottom line: if voters vote cumulatively, Ralphie wins. If just on the one performance, Dat Phan wins.

I hope they run this show again, bc I want to go on it.

I was thinking about breaking in the legs more than the shoes. I agree that the shoes should feel like pillows right out of the box.

(Not literally like pillows.)
