You wound me. Of course I was serious. If you had read some of my more sincere posts over the years you would know that I am a dog owner and a big fan of the canine (Slave can attest to this, he met my dogs, sts). Given my love (platonically) of dogs, I dedicated the one public service/pro bono project of my tenure in the emerald city to representing a non-profit lobbying the city for changes in certain city statutes regarding domestic animals. In the course of that lobbying/representation I had to address numerous issues related to amending the statutory authority of the local Animal Control. In the course of the same I had to deal with Animal Control people. I don't like Animal Control so much.
I also don't like the Seattle City Council so much. Thankfully I had the opportunity over a couple of years to offend all of the Council members personally, so I have that small piece of mind to comfort me.

This is the first CD I ever bought. I was so excited about sitting between the speakers and listening to the sound of the synthesizer going back and forth in Intruder on the crisp clean compact disc technology!

I have no idea what this means. You are welcome, I guess.
(if this is a Harry Potter thing, I have nothing against it, just wondering what the draw is)

It's not a Harry Potter thing; I was similarly flummoxed.

Not a Harry Potter thing. Although, did you know that the Canadian publisher of Harry Potter printed the latest one on recycled paper? Well done, Canada.
Sorry - I think 3 of my picks are Canadian, and I never realized I was such a fan of Canadian music until this poll. In Canada radio stations have Canadian content ("Cancon") requirements - so a certain percentage of what the radio plays has to be Canadian. You are basically guaranteed airplay in Canada if you are Canadian and record an album. So I grew up listening to Canadian music and I suppose it has stuck.
Amusing anecdote: Bryan Adams is not considered Cancon (because not only do you have to be Canadian, you have to have Canadians in your band or production company or something) and he was really pissed about it. You suck, Bryan Adams.

Is Celine Dion Cancon? If so, I'm sorry. I assume your heart will go on.

So, what is the attraction of the Harry Potter thing? I've never read or seen any of those books/movies. I know RT likes them because the Christian Coalition has condemned them, but what about the rest of you HP freaks?

I don't understand. You start a poll on top five favorite albums, and then ask why people like Harry Potter books?

Conference Call Thingy
So I'm on an call and the conferencing number has a recorded voice that tells you to "state your name and then press the pound or hash key". Hash key? Is this some cross-border thing? Do other countries call it the hash key? Suddenly I want brownies.

UK calls it the hash key. Which makes more sense to me than pound key. Because of the hash marks. mmm, hash.
