eta: another point of note is that when you suggest the president would be better off dead or whatever it is you said (I can't reference the post because your words got deleted), you got deleted, but when certain prominent politicians violate the same statute, Ty won't even criticise them. Much to regret.

PP, thank you for the avatar compliment. I like to think he has good genes. The wading pool, however, was destroyed in an unfortunate raccoon incident not long ago.

Yes, please. The 13th is good. But isn't the guest of honor not going to be there that day?

And now, my picks of the weekend. I've got four of them (in addition to the Indians every game over the Royals).
Yankees -260 tonight over Ted Lilly and the Blue Jays. I know it's a steep price to pay, but put it in some parlays or something, because Ted Lilly is dog meat.
Wisconsin +3 (2.5?) over Michigan. More of the Bryant Calhoun show. Last week was as bad as that offense could play, and they still won by 9 on the road at UNC.
St. Louis -6.5 -- home turf, home cooking, and a whole lot of Stephen Jackson and Torry Holt.
Finally, this one might sound bizarre, but take San Francisco +6.5. One thing I think they can do is stop the run a little bit, and Julius Jones is not all that behind that overrated O-Line. I liked the way they played at home in Week 1. I hate Drew Bledsoe as much as ever. Should be a low scoring game.
That is all.

Indians win Thursday? Check
Indians win Friday? Check
Indians win Saturday? Checkerooni.
Yankees win Friday? Check. Ted Lilly, 1.0 IP, 4 ER.
Wisconsin with an exciting comeback win over Michigan? Check.
By the way, my other college plays today, Notre Dame and USC, each laying the wood (I had them separately, and in a 3 team teaser (but sadly not a parlay) with Wisconsin.
So tomorrow, you've got your two solid picks up there. I'll add one more for you: Bills/Falcons UNDER 36.
Cash monily yours,
Str8.

So, did you bet on today's Indians game or not?

I did. I don't care about the sun, Grady's gotta catch that ball.
I also bet on the Rams. Why did Jeff Fisher kick a FG with 6:00 left down 7? Stupid.
Niners tried their best to blow the 6.5 point spread, as well as the game. Thank god Charlie decided to take a knee, instead of running in the interception.
Still, good sports betting weekend. Would have been even better if not for the flurry of points at the end of the Pitt/NE game.
I hate betting unders.

I agree, but I think you should stop now. They have a week to make this happen, and while they are sitting today the other games can loom very large.
Do you think you can see your way clear to bet the White Sox, Yanks and Red Sox today?

So the Pacers completed their plea deals from the fight at the Palace.
- Indiana Pacers players Ron Artest, Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson were sentenced to a year's probation Friday, plus 60 hours of community service and $250 fines for their roles in one of the worst brawls in U.S. sports history.
Okay, makes sense. and they could do some nice meeting with kids community service. 60 hours of Jermaine's time equals a lot of money really so it sounds equitable.
But........(this is the numbskull who was on the court, got knocked down, and was getting back up when Jermaine nailed him)
- Charlie Haddad, one of the fans authorities say was punched by two Indiana players after he went on the court, attended Friday's hearing and sentencings. He submitted a written statement to the court questioning why he received a harsher sentence than the players did.
Haddad was sentenced in March to two years' probation and 100 hours of community service, plus 10 consecutive weekends in a county work program for violating a local ordinance against entering a performance space.
Again, the players 60 hours is a pretty big financial fine effectively, but it just seems so wrong that this guy got worse, from a message standpoint at least.
I suppose he still has some civil action.

That assumes there's an opportunity cost to their time. There's not. Unlike you with billable hours, they can't go out and play some more hoops and be paid $105k/game to do it. They're not being paid by the hour to play Playstation and roll in their Escalades either.

wildcard
BTW, for all the people saying how wonderful the wildcard is, because it's created excitement in the last week, are they forgetting that if we had the old divisional lineup, right now the Red Sox, Yankees, and Indians would all be fighting for the division title, while the White Sox would have the Angels nipping at their heals?
