I'm not a lesbian, but I am intrigued nonetheless. They are obviously lesbians with impeccable taste.

Yes, we Harrisburg lesbians have impeccable taste.
This reminds me, while speaking to some students the other day, I actually managed to work in the words "fabulous shoes" into our discussion. It was great. In turn, they showed me the fabulous shoes they too were wearing.

We know it's terribly hard to come up with a good idea for a Halloween costume. But one you should definitely rule out is "blackface makeup, an afro wig and a prison jumpsuit with shackles around your wrists and ankles." Especially if you're white. And a judge. In Louisiana. AP article.

Hello yourself. You can no longer get the NY and LA network channels on DIRECTV if you are able to receive local affiliates from those networks by antenna (whether or not you actually do). DIRECTV agreed to block to make the networks happy (who did this to keep the affiliates happy)

Do you write viruses in your spare time because it's Microsoft's responsibility to write programs to stop them? Do you plug your leaf blower into your neighbor's socket? Asshole.

Still harboring that grudge, huh?
Actually, the trick is that you (uhm, I) still pay the subscription fees, so its not exactly a free ride. Its more like I use more of their signals that they are already sending me than they think I am. But they are sending me the signals anyway. Disable features and intentionally limit functionality? You must be talking to someone else.
What are the total of your scarecrow arguments that you allege I'm making?
Microsoft has a duty to stop viruses? Nope, Microsoft signals are only in my home by invitation.
Steal my neighbor's electricity? Nope, that would mean going over to my neighbor's house.
But opening up the window and letting the sun shine on my fish? Why yes, I do. And in comes the Direct TV signal with the sunlight. Whether I've asked for it or not. So, while they are invading my house with their scrambled bullshit, I figured maybe I'll make something out of the signal.
Yay me. Making beautiful TV from scrambled trespassing signals.
So what's your deal? Its okay if DirectTV trespasses in your house, but there is something wrong with viruses that invade your computer or neighbors that steal your electricity?
You sound like a hypocrite dumbass. But thanks for playing.
While I'm on the topic, what exactly was ruined for the rest of yas? You can't get DirectTV anymore in llalaland or something? Or was that just a, you know, figure of speech that you found on google?
Hello

What then? They were high school students, what did you think, I invited them out for a drink and a night of incredible sex?
I don't think that is the kind of education the school had in mind.

Ouch. That was how it used to be too, but then it changed. Just to be sure though, you are saying that if you live in NYC you can't get the NYC affiliates through the satellite, right? If so, that's how it used to be.

Hip Hop
I don't know nuthin', so I'm talking out of a hole in my head, but I saw Outkast on SNL and thought they were fab. I haven't been a regular record-buyer in quite some time, but I've been seriously considering adding them to my collection. I also really liked Missy Elliott this last week, and that Black Eyed Peas song on the iPod commercial is catchy as a cold virus. And I saw someone on the AMAs while channel surfing--I think it must have been Sean Paul--and that song was pretty cool, too.
I caught the Apple Bottoms contest last night on VH-1 (they must have re-run it), and I was somewhat heartened at the idea of clothing that might actually fit my body type. But then I was disheartened all over again when I saw how cheap and skanky it all looked.

He was the leader of a group demonstrating at the funeral of a gay man, in particular one who once was a poster boy for a "straight counseling" organization. Looking at the photo of Phelps from the site, they were definitely doing a Phelps character. Brought him in for questioning because he'd sent hate mail to the victim (does his group do that to gay people who've been in the news?) and he was ranting on about his mission. The phone rang then so I missed the rest of the show.
He should take a read at the Gospels and see how Jesus interacted with the most notorious types of sinners of his day. He might learn something.

By way of example.
Phelps sent his family here to protest a movie called Jim in Bold www.jiminbold.com. Jim was a young man who was abused horribly by fellow students, because of that and a severe depression, despite treatment he killed himself. The movie explores him, and also has people traveling around the country talking to gay youth and finding out what it has been like in the past few years. It's both a sad and uplifting movie at once.
Prior to the showing of the movie, Phelps sent a fax to the mother of Jim. This is a copy of what he sent her. http://www.godhatesamerica.com/ghfmi..._9-15-2003.pdf
He picketed Shepards funeral and wants to put a "monument" to him in a park to celebrate his placement in hell.
He picketed a restaurant because it had a gay worker. She finally quit, he followed her to her next job.
I don't know that he sends hate email. He might, but generally because he is an attorney (disbarred) he dangles his toes over the line of the law, but doesn't cross it. Many of his kids are attorneys too. They video tape at all their protests in hope of finding people doing something they can sue them for. I think that might be how they support themselves financially. Baiting people until they lose their tempers, and then suing them.

In this case, however, I believe that Phelps is in the role of "notorious sinner" and we need someone else to play the lead.
