He nailed it until the end. It's not that hard to remain friends with your booty-callers*. You just make sure you never say anything stupid. Agreed. I meant that he nailed it regarding his dislike for the term "booty call", not the entire response. The fact that the American public (myself included) ever thought Arsenio Hall was funny is...well...pretty funny.

The proper term is "fuck buddies" I read it somewhere, but don't have time to research. If you have one, you usually have more than one.

Use it with reckless abandon. "Yeah, one of my fuck buddies called last night - he was wasted."

(2) You could just call them "friends" with a particular inflection in your tone. That seems to be what Big Ed's wife and Mrs. Not Bob do -- here's an example:

"Do you know the manager of the Kresge's?"
"Yes, we were friends after college."
"I see." [pause] "Was he any good?"
"Oh, yes." [dreamily] "Very."

I think "paramour" is the perfect term for it. Lest you fear that the inclusion of "amour" might indicate too fond an attachment, remember that "paranormal" means "not exactly normal" and "paralegal" means "dropped out as a 1L."

You are correct. I never really liked that either, but it does kind of sum it up.

As for the ex thing, I think it depends on the ex and if there is really any baggage and if it's clear that this isn't get-back-together sex. With some exes, there is remarkably little baggage.

But even if there is no baggage, it seldom works out with the exes that you dumped primarily because you couldn't stand the thought of ever fucking them again. Just an observation.

Yes, it depends on the reason you dumped/were dumped by him in the first place. If he was cheating on you, it's a perfect situation to get back at the new GF.

I had a buddy who used to say "Friends are friends, pals are pals, and buddies sleep together." To this day, if I refer to someone as a buddy, I've either slept with them, or am planning to do so in the immediate future.

Exs make the best buddies. You presumably spent some time when you were into each other learning how to make each other hot. Might as well not waste the effort.
