3 on the foam rollers. Kept a history of IT band problems totally out of the picture during recent training. Of course, then the stress fracture goes and mucks things up. But the foam roller is great.

Every morning when I walk into my office after I have shut the door, I flip off the door, hard, with both middle fingers and think hateful flipping off thoughts about all my co-workers.

Somewhat relatedly, once, many moons ago, I mooned a former boss who downsized me. Shortly thereafter he died of a heart attack. I am not sure if it was related, in whole or part, to the stress of seeing my ass and free swinging balls, but I think its possible. Someday, if my schedule frees up a bit, I might go and piss on his gravestone while flipping it off.

I assume you are talking about the foam roller being used in a similar way to the bosu. I did just a Pilates class and since the studio's air conditioning was broken, we were in the main gym today and did all our work on mats using foam rollers and stability balls. The variations on plank/push-ups are killer on the foam roller. We also use them to warm up, just by rolling along hamstrings, quads, IT bands. According to my trainer, the roller breaks up muscle adhesions when used this way.

I was talking about the wakers, I think. They look very similar to the things we've been standing on lately to help with balance and to make squats harder.

I've used the foam roller in a pilatesish class before, and it is pretty awesome. I remember roller crunches being particularly hard. And core stabilizer/planks.

Interesting, I haven't seen them used that way. It makes sense though because it does require balancing to use them standing up. I tend to use mine at night while watching bad TV.

Last summer, I did a number on my IT bands walking down a mountain.

My pilates instructor had my on those foam rollers for days afterwards, and they did seem to help.

2. on the yoga toes. When I wear high heels too many days in a row, they make the bad foot cramps go away.
