Apparently 3000 or so Liverpool fans were mad enough to go to Turin. I think the flares at that game (and the bottles, and the bricks) will be flying into the visitors' stand rather than on to the pitch.

I have the exact same problem actually. But it is with a downstairs and enxt door neighbor who seem to have formed a manspinster alliance against the sounds of paigow. All you can do to keep it from escalating is quiet things down, suggest she carpet or get a big fucking rug and put the joint on the market. Or you could sound proof. It sucks but the noisy person always loses.

Sweet Jesus, what happened to this guy? I saw him on Letterman last night and he is virtually unrecognizable. He was not in his movie makeup, just IRL unrecognizable. I think its bad plastic surgery but he had kind of a Robert Blake thing going on. Has anyone else seen him on the talk show circuit who can explain this?

I don't believe that this would get around the Sabbath prohibitions. I think you would be better off either turning one on before sundown on Friday and hope that the batteries last until you need it, or perhaps hire the equivalent of a Shabbos Goy to come over and turn it on for you. Of course, the Catholic kayaker sounds like he could solve this problem on a variety of levels.

In any event, my solution would be to thank her for informing you of the thin walls and suggest you jointly go to your condo/whatever board and demand that they properly insulate the units. You can additionally cite the puppy, surely someone has a colicky baby, etc. The problem isn't that you're loud or that she is bitter about not getting any, the problem is inadequate construction, and that's a problem for all tenants. Then you can concede the short-term mitigation - agreeing to keep the parties and piano quiet after midnight on working nights would be fair. I would not consider amending your sexual practices, or acknowledge that your neighbor has any standing to request that you do so, noise notwithstanding.

Wouldn't you want to know if everyone could hear you?
