It is if you're using base 7.5. Didja think of that?

I like when you elicit paranoid delusional paigowesque rants from Spanky. It's fun.
My opinion on this, as on everything around here, is meaningless and nonbinding.

I don't think there is too much problem in Africa of borders crossing tribal lines (of course there are exceptions but generally that is true). This wasn't intentional, I think it is just that these colonial lines often followed geographic lines (rivers and mountain ranges etc) and the tribal lines also followed these lines. In addition, none of these tribes are that big. However, having said this, like I said before, each country has many tribes in them making them all unstable. In Kenya's elections people almost always vote along tribal lines and there are like thirty tribes each with its own language.
But if lines were drawn in Africa to reflect ethnolinguistic lines each African nation would break into many, many nations. Nigeria breaking into hundred of nations.

Lots and lots of tiny countries would be quicker to see the advantages of free trade.

Look, pretty lady, you gave this board its name. You own this board. If Spanky doesn't like anything you say, just turn off his microphone and we'll all enjoy watching him wildly, silently and senselessly gesticulate (good word) in the front of the room.

I was under the impression that Bulgaria was created after WWI when Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire fell apart

Under your Palestine theory, they need to give Bulgaria back to the Turks then, right?

I've been interviewing kids for my college for the last couple of weeks, and I let them know that if there is anything I want them to take away from the interview is that, unless their lifelong ambition is to be Atticus Finch and hasn't changed even from the summer interning at their dad's law firm, they are to ignore every single suggestion that they go to law school and that "you can do anything with a law degree even if you don't want to be a lawyer."
I feel it's an obligation of the profession to pass this sort of thing on.

If you think Isreal still has the right to occupy the West Bank and Gaza then we should give Bulgaria back to the Turks. They need to occupy Bulgaria for their own protection against Greece.
However, if you support ethnic cleansing then the Palestinians have no right to return. If you don't support ethnic cleansing well then....

1)First, if I have her on ignore (and she clearly does not have me on ignore) how am I the one senselessly gesticulating?
2) If what I said before didn't put the nail in my coffin with the FB Betties this post certainly will. Hopefully it will be quite liberating and they all will put me on ignore.
You can tell a lot by what a woman writes. Generally the more sensitive to criticism, the more upset they get when you talk about models, strippers, playmates (or other women in professions that require physical beauty), and the quicker they are to accuse you of being sexist, the less attractive they are.
If they are hot, they are not threatened by playmates and strippers (because they think they can compete) and therefore find such topics interesting. They are less sensitive because they have been more in the drivers seat when it comes to relationships with men and are less bitter about the way they have been treated by men. And the liberal use of the term sexist? - well I think we have all seen what sort of women attend a feminist collective meeting (and in my personal experience I have never been accused by an attractive woman of being sexist. But have been so accused by many unattractive woman).
My guess from what they have posted:
GWNC - pretty hot (probably steaming hot)
NCS - not so hot.

I think this post would be more appropriate for the FB. Would you consider posting it over there?

As John McLaughlin says...."WRONG"
Israel won the land after fighting and winning a war in which they were initially attacked.
Since when - as a principle of warfare - do the losers get their land back?

As John McLaughlin says...."WRONG AGAIN, ELEANOR"
If you flood Israel with millions of Arabs, you are advocating ethnic clensing and genocide. Nothing more, nothing less.

Under international law, winners don't get to take land.
Since we won in Iraq, do we get to kick half the Iraqis out, fill that land with Texans, and then occupy the other half of Iraq indefinitely to protect the Texans?
Do you get to occupy another country indefinitely? Russia was attacked by Germany, Romania and Hungary during WWII. So how long should Russia have been able to occupy those countries?

Yes but what about kicking out all those Arabs out of Isreal proper? Wasn't that ethnic cleansing? I think about 80 percent of the Jews that live in Isreal today are from somewhere else. So most of the Jews that are there are from somewhere else, and the Arabs that lived there were kicked out.
Wouldn't letting the Arab's back in be reverse ethnic cleansing?
