The raouaouaouaoaol school of scientific method makes it to the politics board. yay!
I, for one, trust the opinion of a good friend who I've known for over than 15 years and who lives and works amongst the saltof the earth of "Madrith" a hell of a lot more than I would some schmoe from Gallup with his "sampling error"

If "keep up" means I've got to read more NRO and Kerry, pass.
For NRO updates, all you need to do is read the WSJ op-ed.

For Kerry updates, all you need to do is watch Mtv and read a Heinz 10-Q

Taco Bell? Please. They're everywhere. If it's anything, it's got to be InNOut.

N.B. -- It was Spanish media polling.

Even as clarified, pass, thanks. But maybe I'll linger on MTV when I'm next flipping from ESPN to Bravo.

I'm sure you do. Hell, the fact that he knows that people in Madrid all lisp Spanish is more than enough of a recommendation. Only someone intimately familiar with the Spanish people, nationwide, would be aware of such a thing.

I wish i could give you a coded shorthand Ty, but it was "Down and Out in Paris and London," and he lacked the fare for travel to Spain or other european locales.

The singular of "anecdotes" is not "evidence."

Note to self: abide no more "math is hard" or "someone didn't study economics" zinger posts from Slave.

Math insults are for pikers. Even the real Al Franken shuns them.

Admittedly I am not fluent in French (though maybe I should be after the 6 years spent taking freaking French classes and the summer I spent in Reines), but I feel as though it should be Je t'accuse. Or maybe Je vous accusez. Carry on.

I'm just quoting Hank. Not having seen A Few Good Men, I have no idea what he's talking about.

“The Affair” might have ended then but for the determined intervention of the novelist Émile Zola, who published his denunciation (“J’accuse!”) of the army cover-up in a daily newspaper. [Note: Zola was found guilty of libeling the army and was sentenced to imprisonment. He fled to England, where he remained until being granted amnesty.
its historic for a political accusiation, maybe in the vernacular, don't know.

Well J'accuse is fine if you are not accusing any particular person or thing. Or maybe the end of the sentence was left off and he meant to say J'accuse le gouvernement des etats unis or somesuch. But if you wish to direct your accusation at Ty (for example), I think "Je t'accuse, Ty" works. Unless you are scared of him, in which case "Je vous accusez, Monsieur Slothrop" might fit the bill.*

*I really care about none of this but I am stuck at work and am forced to find a way to pass the time here while I wait for the other side to get their act together and deliver some stuff to us.

they're out of control

What's wrong with this picture?
  • U.S. officials told NBC News that the full record of Clarke’s testimony two years ago would not be declassified. They said that at the request of the White House, however, the CIA was going through the transcript to see what could be declassified, with an eye toward pointing out contradictions.

link

That's right: The Administration is using the CIA to do opposition research for domestic political points, and it bragging about it to the press.

Don't you think those CIA analysts could probably be doing something to promote national security?

Truth be told, I'm relieved. The early contenders for California's state quarter all looked like ass, and this ain't half bad. (I'm a single issue voter.)
I can see his cost-cutting strategy, though. The damn thing is huge! Who's gonna be able to carry more than a few out to spend?
