2) Does Cupid get rerun at all? I saw the Robert date during the commercial and am falling more in love with Laura. I bet she would do a girl if the right one came along.
For all I know Peoplenews may be using it as a compliment (but since they are so catty, why would they repeat a compliment so many times) but there comes a point when a long thin jaw gets too long and thin. For my money, Ken has passed that point. But he's big and tall so he gets hotness points for that.

I don't think Cupid gets re-run. Pity. Laura is hilarious but this was her least funny episode -- she got a little shrill and repetitive. She is at her best when she shreds someone without emotion.

Cupid is making me realize I'm more of a snob than I was willing to admit. Renda is cute in a scruffy kind of way but a long-term future with a guy who makes his living as a professional street hustler sounds like a bad idea unless he is up for being Mr. Mom, in which case it could be ideal. But I think I'd be smitten with Hank and Joe even if they worked at McDonalds so maybe Renda just isn't my type.

Unless Hank is an amazing actor, Kimberly is right: he doesn't have a clue how good looking he is. He must have been a gawky geeky teen and hasn't realized he grew up.

And what company would think this is a good marketing slogan?

Reminds me of the story my dad used to tell about some army psy-op effort where they send a bunch of condoms marked "small" to Russia, even though they were actually a larger size.

Hey! I was young and I needed the money...

As for the "snug-fit" condoms, doesn't that sound better than "X-tra Small" ? I think "snug-fit" is a brilliant euphemism.

Significant SO Mistakes

Kinda. A guy I became friends with saw us as more than friends and proceeded to stalk me for months. He couldn't take no for an answer. Constant phone calls at home and at work, showing up at the house at all hours of the night and day to talk, tracking me down at my usual haunts, the T, the grocery store, the gym. It was awful. I finally threatened to turn him in to INS. Cops couldn't do anything because he never threatened me. Mentally and emotionally it was exhausting. He alienated many mutual friends with his actions.

I ran into him a few months ago while out with the SO. The SO is a really mellow guy, but he's also somewhat physically intimidating. He'd heard the stories, and when the Stalker came over to say Hello, the SO had fun. Every now and then he enjoys playing the tough guy. It was wonderful to watch the Stalker go slinking away. He's still around, but I haven't seen him sine then, and I still go out of my way to avoid him if I hear he's in town.

I think you have to balance the fact that Jack is more likeable and more likely to be chosen by the jury as the winner, if he's in the last two, with the fact that Nathan, even though he's a moron, is more likely to win competitions. I don't think that Jack has come close to winning anything, even the competitions which have not been at all athletic. Nathan has won a few and been a contender in several.

The way I understand the end game, when it's down to two, the jury votes. When it's down to three, there is a competition for HoH, and the winner chooses who leaves. At that point, I would think that HoH would keep around the person he or she thought most dislikeable, so that the jury would pick that person as the winner. When it's down to four, there is a competition for HoH, and the person of the four who is not chosen for elimination and who is not HoH chooses who leaves. So, the HoH when four remain doesn't really have as much power as the previous or later HoHs.

Regardless of which ones is voted off, that leaves Erika, Allison and one of Nathan or Jack. If any of those wins HoH, I have to think that they will shoot for Justin. Unless it's Nathan's choice, and then I expect him to take Allison out, just for spite.

Andra looked like she was going to puke or pass out during the entire elimination. I wanted to sit her down on the couch and put a nice cool rag on her face. I've never thought she was stunning, but definitely pulling all the hair away from the face was a mistake. She is another one with the viewing angles issue- cute from some angles, really not from others.
Isnt it tragic that apparently only you and I are watching this fascinating show? And it has so much possibility. If Andra doesnt turn into a seductress, then I will recruit one of the many fabulous gay men in DC (none of whom are attarctive sadly- why are they all bald?) and go on the next one and I will totally try to seduce the ones who might be straight. I just hope that the fact that only you and I are watching isnt representative of the ratings.

and sean totally looks like DAvid ARquette. He just isnt a flaming asshole like David is. Perhaps we should get him to gether with Lisa from Cupid who looks so much like Courteney Cox that I cant feel her.

The guy I dated in college was a controlling braggart and jerk. My friends didn't like him, but I didn't take the clue (which is a big one). When I finally broke up with him (he graduated a year before me and absence did not make the heart grow fonder), he said "Wow, I always thought I would be the one to break up with you."

Since then he calls me periodically (typically when he is drunk) to tell me how great he is doing (financially and material possessions-wise), along with telling me about his exploits and/or that I was the love of his life, while asking me how he can get out of his marriage, despite the fact that his wife just gave birth. Can't believe I let that winner out of my grasp. Sigh.

The fact hat Jack is likable adds to why he will get cast out. Though I dont think anyone hates Nathan- they just think he is dumber than whaleshit. I am confused as to why Jack thinks it is unlikely that he will stick around. Is there something from the feeds that says otherwise (where is Less on those rare occasions you need him)? Jack, though old like Bilmore, is stealth, and clearly phsyically fit. He is probably smareter than most of the people onthe show and I amwilling to bet he deliberately doesnt win soime competitions. After all, the FBI only hires America's finest.

why would robert and Jee vote to keep Jack? they can play the stupid Nathan to the hilt, but will never get Jack to vote with them until everyone else is gone. Erika will vote to keep Jack probably. Allison will probably vote to keep Nathan bc she thinks she can play him (bc she thinks she is so smart), but then she might stick with the alliance, but probalby not since its in her interest to stay with the stooges. Jun votes with the stooges. Jack is adios.

I hope Erika wins HOH. I like her for some reason.

Looks like Mr. Hand is watching also. It should be doing okay ratings-wise since it leads into the smash sensation Queer Eye. Maybe would be better if it followed it. I'm not sure they can do a second season b/c the secret of the show is already out (some are straight) - see my analysis of why For Love or $ II has sunken in the ratings. The next guy would simply use his gaydar from day 1. In any event, if anyone has their tv set to Bravo, it is an improvement over last season/year. Not a very high bar.

Edited to note how bad "has sunken" looks, but not to fix it, b/c it's almost so bad that it's good.

Relationship Mistakes

One short-term GF from college was particularly memorable. Hooked up at an apartment party. Definitely jumped in to the relationship too quick, as she turned out to be extremely clingy and repressed (Catholic school girl, and not the good kind). She would show up at my place, a twenty minute walk across campus, unannounced several times a week. Was so thick headed she wouldn't get the hint even after I sat down with her and told her it was over to her face. Had to call on mutual friends to help get the point across. They agreed with me, saying it was one of the best moves I could've made.

Here's the funny part: She later went on to live with and marry a pretty good friend of mine. God bless him, but nobody who knows the two of them has any idea what he was thinking. He even bailed out on a dual bachelor party in Vegas because she didn't trust him (or the rest of us) and didn't want him to go. His own brother still went with us (and called him every variation of a "puss" you can think of) and his aunt the travel agent set up the trip (she thought he was a puss too). Except for rare occasions, he has basically fallen off the face of the earth the past few years...

People I know from school occasionally remember that I dated her. It's always a guaranteed laugh when I remind them "at least I didn't marry her..."

From a spoiler site:

"Last Updated August 13, 8:00 am Central

While it may seem that Nathan’s eviction is a foregone conclusion, the Stooges have apparently actually been considering keeping him around as a vote for their side if he sticks to his promises. The vote is live Wednesday night and Justin has talked about waiting ‘til almost the last minute to make up their minds."

SO Mistakes

I dated a coke addict. I didn't know he was an addict when we met. He seemed like someone who had his shit together. My friends loved him, my family loved him. He was a terrific guy, who would disappear for a day or two at a time. Sometimes with my car. Later with my money.

I broke up with him after I had to cancel too many social engagements or theater tickets because he would show up high. After one such episode, I crashed his car because he was incapable of driving and I couldn't handle his big german car. Unsurprisingly, though I hit two other cars and he had been passed out beside me, he talked our way out of it and no one ever reported the accident.

The drug addiction was more than I could handle. Several months after the relationship ended, I received a call from the police at 3 am saying that they had found his car in a ditch but they couldn't find him (or his body). Though he was fine, it was a good reminder of why I ended the relationship.

To this day, he tells all of my friends that the biggest mistake he ever made was not marrying me (like that was an option). Though he no longer stalks me, I still avoid social situations when I know he will be there. We each attended a political dinner a few months ago, and he delighted in telling everyone how I broke his heart.

In the funny coincidence category, the top guy on my "what the hell was I thinking?" list just moved into my neighborhood, after many many years and a couple of cross country moves each (and we didn't live in this area when we dated).

There was no real relationship drama, he's tops on the list only because the fact that I dated him is widely known and thus widely embarrassing. He was a goofball, easily caricatured, not hot, and inexplicably arrogant. The relationship had everyone in my professional and social circles shaking their heads, and the less kind among them like to remind me of it just to see if they can get me to wince. I just tell them that the sex was good (it was, although he's not the hot sex ex).
