Murse convo

It's like our own mini conversation about purses. Maybe our murse thread?
Hate the Apogees - too harsh. Love the Vandersteens. Love them. they're my next speaker if I get any say-so.

I liked Fabio's system, but he had too many subwoofers. I would have put a nice REL with those.

And yeah, you need a square room with a flat wall for the ML's to work, and I ain't got that. They make good bug zappers too.

Wait. You changed my statement to make your point. I said $3k vs $30k for a preamp. A $3k preamp would be an expected part of a $10-15k stereo system.
I don't disagree that in the first several orders of magnitude in stereo prices, people can tell the difference (i.e. $100 vs. $1000 vs. $10,000). I'm just not so sure about the next step ($10,000 vs. $100,000).

Also, if you're going to invest in the electronics, you're absolutely stupid not to invest in the best surge suppressor/line conditioner you can afford. Those people in New York will be sad to find out that when the power comes back on, a lot of their electronics will have blown out. The service departments will be packed with people with dead computers, TV's and stereos from the surge - all which could have been avoided with a $100 (NOT $10) surge protector. NO, I don't work for a surge protector company, but have many many friends in "the business."
I'll have you know that my stereo system cost considerably more than $100. I am not a Philistine. But as of yet it has not passed the $2000 mark, which was my original point.

Or they have some schmancy cars in NYC that, uh, plug in or something.
They may have some fancy shmancy cars that plug in to something, but without electricity there are no stoplights to regulate traffic, no tolls (ok that's probably a good thing), and no fans clearing the exhaust from the tunnels.

I did note earlier that they are like ying and yang, what with Thurgreed wanting the 70s undercover cop persona and the jet pack, but not the monkey, and Slave wanting the monkey but not the 70s undercover cop persona or the jet pack. Two halves of a whole. The two Ms in an MFM. It's a beautiful thing and a testament to their long friendship.

I said $100 surge protector. I'm surprised at how many people spend $15 on a surge protector and are shocked, SHOCKED that it didn't do anything. Spend NO LESS than $100 on a surge protector for your stereo, TV and computer.

It's a white purse with the logos in pink and blue (and maybe some other color). I suppose it's supposed to look summery, but it looks even worse than the dark and light brown combo. I saw some woman on the street carrying it and couldn't stop staring (a la slowing down to look at a car accident.)

Here is a particularly hideous example:

It looks like a bowl of Lucky Charms.

While all of those things are inconvenient and/or unhealthy, they wouldn't cause people to be unable to exit their cars (unless they pass out from carbon monoxide poisoning in the tunnels). As later noted, the "cars" referred to were subway cars not car-cars and it is difficulter to get out of a subway car without power, plus you're kind of stuck-er even if you do get out.

Is there some kind of fund we can donate to for the surgery that is needed to attempt to fix the effects of the massive head injury you have obviously suffered? That's like the wisp of smoke that results when you try to strike a match but it doesn't light.

It may be a long walk wiht the rats but at least you don't have to worry about stepping on the third rail. Anyone remember that scene in "The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3"?

YEs, please send loads of money my way.

Actually, i think the sitch is that I logged on today to vent some frustration, and then it was like a big love fest with all the venom spewing, like old times, that it made me soft... not soft, in my normal extremely pudgy soft way, but it touched my overworked heart.

*sniff*

I'm hoping this is a temporary condition, or i will need that cash for the lobotomy.

I did not know that trading PM's with fringey would get me pregnant, but thanks for the warning.

Lamest Posters Hit Parade*

5. Paigow

*Much like Playboy had to retire Chico State from its list of party schools in the 80s because it was unfairly comparing professionals to amateurs, Bilmore has been retired here based on his 65,000+ posts (but reliable information indicates that he is in the top 5, if not the lamest poster of them all).
