1. What kind of statutory rape laws does Utah have if the only one he could be in trouble for is the one who was 13? I Googled him and some of his other wives were 14 and 15. There is just something creepy about that.
2. If I were a Utah taxpayer, I'd be completely furious about having to support his zillion kids. The Google article said they basically live on the welfare checks the women get and even before he went to jail he didn't seem to do much other than be a media whore and get his women pregnant.
3. A couple of the women wrote in defense of him that they insisted to their parents that they be allowed to become one of his wives. You have to wonder what kind of childhood they had to think at age 14 that sex with an average at best looking 40ish guy was a good idea.

It just goes to show you that Steinbrenner will spend stupid sums of money just to piss the Red Sox off.
Newest Yankee is A-Rod - sorryasshole and a player to be named and pissed off later to go to Texass.
And just wait, Steinbrenner will be the first one to bitch about revenue sharing again even though he has spent more money than the cost of small countries even though it looks like Texass is eating a lot of his contract.

I think there may have been proof issues (a recurrent problem in polygamy cases), like, they managed not to have kids until they were old enough for it not to be illegal.

Lots of Utah taxpayers are upset. Most polygamous colonies rely heavily on the government for their sustenance. But prosecuting polygamy per se is not easy, and most prosecutors have decided to spend their time on other things like drug interdiction, etc. Polygamy cases only get prosecuted when there is a twist like incest (a la the Kingstons) or statutory rape (a la Tom Green).

Almost all polygamous wives grew up in polygamy. Strange and perverse as it seems to us, it's normal for them.
If you really care, you can donate money to organizations like Save the Child Brides (which helps teenage girls who run away from Colorado City/Hilldale, usually to escape becoming a junior wife to a much older man) and Tapestry, which lobbies for stronger anti-polygamy enforcement and helps women and children leaving polygamy. I can get the contact info if you're interested.

Dude, you have GOT to stop spending so much time and money in the Tenderloin. Now I understand why Ty and Sidd have been emailing me about flying out there for an intervention.

Up to nine killed in kite mishaps in Pakistan festival.
Kite deaths mar Pakistan festival {BBC}
That's not the odd part. The odd part is that there's more than one way to get killed by a kite.

I feel the same way about the welfare moms in the inner city. I am furious that my tax dollars support the children of these irresponsible inner city mothers and fathers on welfare who have more kids than they can support (many with different fathers). In this respect, those fathers and mothers in the inner city living off of tax dollars are just as bad as Tom Green.
There are some men in the inner city who have kids with 12 or more different women and they don't support those kids and worse yet, they don't even stick around to help raise them.
Let's be fair here. If you are furious that some white guy is having more kids than he can support and taxpayers are paying for it, get furious when blacks do it, too.
