Now your true colors come out. Sexist? Give me a break. That is the dumbest thing I have heard in a while. I can't figure out who is more pathetic - you or TM. You are senstive on the subject and so in order to justify your anger at nothing you accuse me of being sexist. You are pathetic. There was nothing sexist about what I said and you know it. It is clear to me now that you have had a bad dating history and I have hit upon a sore subject. Otherwise the comment would have bounced off you like all the others. I barely thought about the post at the time, but clearly it has stuck to you like a leach.

In fact, one of your bigger supporters here, gwnc, jumped to my defense at the time. Some people tried to turn it into a joke, but your posts do not look like jokes.
Jumped to your defense? Are we in a boxing ring? People post nasty stuff on here all the time. After all the stuff that is said on here you are saying I crossed some sort of line? Oh boo hoo? If you are this sensitive what are you doing here? I now realize you have been brooding over this imagined slight ever since it occurred and were just waiting for a chance to bring it up again. Why do you care at all what I said?

How do you function as a lawyer when you are this sensitive? Lighten up Francis. You will live longer. I suggest you put me on ignore, and I will do the same to you.

You will be waiting for quite a while. I'm out. I've had him on ignore all day and I'm done clicking through to read his posts. I do feel bad for him. It is bizarre to read the way he turns things around in his own head so that he is always right about everything. A therapist would have a field day.

A big part of the problem, which helped spark this whole hullabaloo (good word) is that your two paragraphs are completely nonresponsive to the broader discussion that you jumped into -- to the point that they are damn near non sequiturs.

You read a lot into what PT said which may not have been there, and (I think) missed the point of his statement (which was NOT that racism against whites is okey-dokey), and the ruckus began.

S_A_M
I was not responding to any "discussion". I was not following the board that day. The first post I saw on the subject I saw was this and I responded to it. :

I responded with what you read, and then got the tirade from TM. He quoted what I said and then critsized the comment and me for saying it. Why would I, or should I have assumed there was more going on when he quoted what I said and responded to it? Why should I have assumed that when he accussed me of something that he was actually referring to someone else or another subject?

Frankly, I'm so impressed with DeMeco Ryans that it's going to take a lot to convince me that the draft was fucked up. Leads all rookies in tackles. Third overall in the NFL.

Mario hasn't had a terrible year either.

You've called me stupid any number of times, but you've never made a joke ("joke") about my dating history or bitterness. And yet it seemed right to make that joke to ncs. Why was that?

What do you mean by ignore. How am I ignoring it?

Quote:
Originally posted by ThurgreedMarshall I said that you have the luxury of engaging in this kind of behavior
What kind of behavior?

Quote:
Originally posted by ThurgreedMarshall because it would seem, the only negative impact racism has on you is when a black persons feels like it is okay to make fun of a white person.
I don't mind it when black people make fun of me or even when they make racists comments to me. I have never made any personal comment to that effect. But when racist comments are made in public, and there is no price to pay, or people justify their racist comments because of their victime status, that sends a message to everyone that racism and racist comments are OK. At least that is my opinion.

Quote:
Originally posted by ThurgreedMarshall And even though that is minor in comparison to what black people endure (in large part because of how race is and has been dealt with in this country), you are completely focused on it. In fact, you are so focused on it that, as we have seen, it is the only thing you can post about (pointless tangents aside).
I am not focused on what Black people say about me. I am focused on the fact that public racist statements should never be given a free ride, no matter who makes the comment. Some how you have made this personal about me and I have never made it personal. If a black person had made the same comments that Michael Richards did at a comedy club about another race the backlash should be just as bad.

Quote:
Originally posted by ThurgreedMarshall When you wouldn't let it go, I asked you why you think people generally don't think it's* as big a deal for as you do and if, in the grand scheme of things racial in this country, it amounted to much, given who holds all the power. Of course you live strictly in a black-and-white world, so this whole idea went straight over your head.
Like I said before, I think there is real problem with anti-semiticsm in the African American community in this country. I am not Jewish. But many African American leaders seem to get a pass when it comes to anti-semitic comments where other people don't. This double standard has caused resentment in the Jewish community which I have experienced first hand. We have had guest speakers from the African American community at Republican functions who have made anti-semitic comments and seemed to be dumbounded when they were called on it.

Quote:
Originally posted by ThurgreedMarshall You then went on to say that we needn't think about the history of slavery in this country
Please show me where I said this. I really never said this and it is quite disconcerting when you keep saying I did.

Quote:
Originally posted by ThurgreedMarshall because racism is a natural condition every culture shares.
This is true. My point was we can improve our understanding of racism in this country by seeing how it operates in other countrys.

Quote:
Originally posted by ThurgreedMarshall And then you went on to talk about the history of racism in other cultures. You didn't listen to anything I said, or, if you did, you're simply not capable of understanding it.
What didn't I listen to? Seriously. I read very carefully everything you wrote. You know I did because I responded in detail to everything you wrote, paragraph by paragraph just to indicate to you I was comprehending what you were saying. Are you sure you are not confusing understanding with agreeing with you?
TM

Can you least admit that in your first post you ascribed statements and arguments to me that I never made?

Hmmm. Turning that hopeful song of integration into a mere parody, mocking this spat?

Why do you ask the question? If you are thinking something why don't come out and say it instead of playing your stupid games.

Could it be that you are thinking that because I made a joke about her that I didn't make about you it must be sexist because you are a boy and she is a girl. That would be really pathetic.

Good God, it's a wonder you have *ever* gotten laid.

You forgot to include the line about Pony having our proxy in this one. Plus the one about Halle Berry's hottosity. Six toes? Who cares -- one more to nibble on.
