There's a new game we like to play.

Bagels -- bad bad bad. Fritters -- better than the other breakfast pastry options there, since they have seemingly obliterated chocolate. Sandwiches -- I like the tarragon chicken salad one, except the bread gets kind of squishy, and I wish they still cut it in half. But the filling is tasty.
Perhaps I am unpicky.

Fringey. The only way one can justify eating anything from Sbux is to say you needed to stop for your morning coffee and you wanted a morning pastry, and making a second stop was not practical. but we all know you will make a stop for a breakfast pastry no matter the day's other chores, so the Sbux food thing is quite confusing.

Ok. I recall that you, SAM, were a man of solid repute back on the Politics Board, albeit a little delusional in your politics (but I won't hold that against you), so I will trust that this is correct. From now on, I pee in the crapper, door open standing.
Tanks for the advice.

I know not of what you speak. I am a respected and compassionate member of all of the communities I participate in. Perhaps you have me confused with someone else because someone so reviled as you describe is not me.

Hey, I wasn't holding one of the pitchforks. I just heard the commotion from afar. We always got along fine.
So...what's your opinion on the relative merits of German vs. Russian tracked armament circa 1944?

The Shazam sound kinda interesting from their website.
I've seen Mates of State live, after hearing about them for a while, and they left me unimpressed. The piano & drums combo seemed like a gimmick, especially since Smoosh opened.
Cassandra Wilson has a new album worth a listen. It's produced by T Bone Burnett.

My rental Toyota Mini Van had the fly A/C.
Thanks for the tip -- I'll check it out.

I think you have foolishly discounted the possibility that it is, in fact, the turkey and the mozzarella.

Buddhism- a religion of peace- as long as you sit the fuck down and give me a chance
http://www.couriermail.news.com.au/s...94-954,00.html
- Buddhist monks 'slashed, beat taxi driver'
From correspondents in Phnom Penh
July 18, 2006
This article from : AAP
FOUR gambling Cambodian monks were charged with serious assault after they allegedly slashed and beat a taxi driver who tried to cash in his winning hand and go home, police said.
Police chief of Kien Svay district just outside the capital, Mang Pech, said motorbike taxi driver Meas Buntheng, 29, had been playing cards with the monks last week at their pagoda when he decided to take his winnings and go home.
"The monks did not want him to stop playing and leave, as he had won around 50 cents from each of them, so they lost their tempers," Mr Pech said.
"Three of them beat him with the poles used to beat the pagoda's sacred gong, and another one returned with a cleaver and chopped him 14 times."
He said Mr Buntheng remained in a critical condition in hospital.
The four Buddhist monks had been disrobed and were being held in custody facing assault charges. If convicted they face up to 10 years in jail.
"Both sides got angry with each other, but it was the monks who inflicted the injuries. Monks are not permitted to play cards. Monks cannot behave like this. This is against our tradition," Mr Pech said.

Has anyone ever eaten a Starbucks sandwich? I had to pick up a late lunch the other day and walked an extra three blocks out of my way to avoid getting lunch there -- setting aside the benefits of exercise, a smart move?

I have eaten that Italian sandwich from Starbucks it comes with a little olive oil and a faint paltry imitation of sopresetta and capicola. It wasn't *that* inedible but it wasn't great.
Actually in a pinch, their Cheese and Fruit plate is much better comparatively; or if you do not wish to spike your glycemic index Almonds from there are tasty. And diet like although high in fat....but that is offset by the low carb.
Their pastries are bunk. They DEFROST them for chrissakes. yuk. The only thing that tastes normal is the scone since that is the natural texture to be that gross and the M&M cookie.

If they didn't DEFROST them, the pastries would taste just as lousy and would be crunchy to boot.
