Agreed. There is a lot missing context. As I posted subsequent, if its a 5 month relationship, there is much more potential for a volatile affect than if it is a 5 year relationship.

Certainly if its that latter, assuming there are not other serious issues, I would not think that the statement alone is enough to destroy the relationship without some serious discussion and examination of what the statement meant, in context, to both parties.
