Oh right. You're one of the folks with the lack of any balls to openly support someone.

No, you'll sit back and hand wring, bitching and whining the whole time that you need to hear "more" from the candidates - when anyone with a brain realizes that they've all said whatever they're going to say.

Then, come November, should you even bother to get out of your ivory tower to vote, you'll pull the level for ___ , regardless of his/her positions, just because she/he is running against the party of Lincoln, Reagan, and Bushitler.

Rudy chose a strategy. That strategy exposes him to constant ridicule for a month while he waits in the wings for his precious little hand-picked battle. Deal with it.
So you understand the strategy and you're just being an idiot. Got it.

Orin Kerr:
  • Just A Random Thought: A hypothetical news story reporting that John Yoo authored an OLC memo rejecting the individual rights view of the Second Amendment would cause the entire blogosphere, both left and right, to instantly explode.

That flew completely over my heard. Am I just patheticallly out of touch with current events, or is Ty spending too much time in the blogoshpere.

John Yoo wrote the memo about torture for the OLC. Therefore, he is presumably sort of revered by people who are big into the whole Jack Bauer paradigm. Presumably these people are frequently also "if guns are outlawed, only criminals will have guns" people. So, if John Yoo were to analyze the 2nd Amendment and find that there is no indiv right to keep and bear arms, and that it authorizes only e.g. the national guard, it would be very upsetting to those who worship at his altar.

And a basic premise of his memo re torture was a rejection of the individual rights view of the Geneva Conventions.

Ooooooh. Coooooool.

Thanks! That is a huge improvement on my explanation. Which now is sort of pathetic and lame. Oh well.

do you get that this is equivalent to "all Dems are soft on allowing terrorists to roam free because Clinton didn't do anything?" It's offensive.

Ty can't rise above his prejudices, but you I thought better.

I didn't say all Rs, I said all people who think that "torture" should be defined as essentially a null set, because it's only torture if it causes death, and that blah blah stuff about individual rights or whatever that I bet very few people are aware underlies the torture memo. Those people are a narrow subgroup. I tend to think that narrow subgroup also wants to be allowed to own a semiautomatic handgun.

Ty and Atticus think 9/11 was a simple crime, and the criminals all died.
