Wow. With Ricky and Gatti in town, I'll have to keep my crim lawyers with me all weekend for "unexpected" jail runs.

Perhaps we'll need to compile the FB "do not arrest" list prior to ACL and distribute it among the local constabulary.

I would just as soon not attract any undue attention. Unlike last year . . .

I was not enamored of last week's episode, because I was afraid it was just another senseless subplot that would go unresolved and remain unaddressed. After last night's episode, I no longer think that is the case.

If the family continues on the course of drawing back together, then last week's episode will have reversed a dangerous entropy that was threatening to pull the whole thing apart. Bringing Nate back into the business, and bringing David closer with Clare were both good steps.

The Brenda business has to be resolved in more dramatic a fashion thatn simply she and he break up. Theirs was the encounter that drew us in in the first place.

And I hated George from the beginning. Anything that hastens his departure is a good thing in my book.

The only wasted scene in the whole episode was Clare and Mena Suvari rolling around on the grass together. Why did they leave their shirts on? Why, Bilmore, why?
I think there will be more with Mena and Claire (at least that's what I heard.)

I read a while ago that David's experience in the 5th episode was to be completely transforming. Sheesh. How could something like that not be? One thing that bothered me about it was that it seemed as though there were ample opportunities for David to escape. However, I don't suppose one in the middle of such a nightmare sees those opportunities as starkly as an outside observer.

The scene with David and Claire was so good.

The other good thing about last night's episode was that they have finally let Nate look hot again.

You have to pick your battles -- public sex or public drug use. Not both. Sheesh.

That's a large part of what angered me so much about the episode. He could have just left the gas station. He didn't need to get out of the van at the liquor store. He could have driven off when the guy got out to dump the body. Etc.

I mean, hell! What was he thinking? It's almost like he was relishing his role as victim.

Well, before the liquor store, he didn't realize he was the target of a crime. However, when the dude got out to take out the body, he totally could have driven away! And why not dial 911? And why not just keep running when he'd knocked the guy off balance with the back door?

Why?!?!?

Don Asmussen is a twisted genius.

Apropos of the Big Dig joke, if they'd wanted a cheaper way to depress the Central Artery, they could have just had Mike Dukakis talk to it.

Good to see the name "Mike Dukakis" still gets people all fired up. Way to kill the board, Ty. I hope it doesn't take 4 years to get it going again.

Did anyone see Catwoman? Was it as god-awful as the reviews? The Bourne Supremacy wasn't bad at all, probably better than the first one, though I missed the first few minutes due to a mis-timing of the previews. I, Robot was OK. Not terrible, but nothing I'd see again. Spider-Man 2 was much better than I anticipated, probably because I thought it was over-hyped. It's still over-hyped, but go see it anyways.

Before Sunset is next on my list, though I'm waiting for Netflix to send me Before Sunrise first so I have proper context.

BB5

BB5 Spoilers....

I am a few episodes behind on the Tivo, but I think that this season is going to get pretty boring pretty soon. The "four horsemen," if they can keep it together, can clearly get to the end. I don't think that the cowboy guy has an independent thinking brain cell in his body, and I think that Drew will not betray his meathead buddies, so they might be able to just pick off the women and the rest of them for the entire time.

Maybe we can just hope for some crazy hijinks to keep us interested, but I imagine that Drew will stay with the assholes until the end, because he could win against either one of them.

The twins don't seem like they'll make it until the five weeks, but who knows...
