If you don't drink, you likely have a fairly low tolerance for "drunkenness." It's not the status as a "drinker", or even the act of drinking in front of them - it's the result of the drink that they dislike.

And, chewing up the rotting flesh only works as an analogy if it changes their behavior, or if they're spitting it out in your face, like a smoker.
Sure, if its your party, you get to make the menu. I understand.

BUT, if you're at dinner with many guests, and everybody is paying, you don't get to gripe about the vino flowing.

This issue is simple... Some folks don't have strong belief systems. I'm one of them. I just do what I do and accomodate others. Seems fair and its an easy comprimise which always keeps the peace. HOWEVER, there are these other people who feel strongly about certain things, and they don't comprimise. They "break the peace" so to say, for their own selfish reasons. They complicate everything, and that's annoying. I tolerate them (and it takes tremendoud tongue biting), so I don't understand why they won't tolerate me.

Courtney Love death watch

I'm not saying this just because Mr Man has her in our 2004 death pool, but seriously how long do you think she will live if she doesn't clean up her act? Here's visual evidence to accompany my rantings:

If that were the mother of my child, I'd use heroin too.

There's a small ad on the Entertainment page. It costs about $5/month to subscribe for unlimited access to all their music online and downloads are .99 each. I think if you sign up you get something like 10 free burns.

She probably did it for your protection. Never fool around in the home of a spouse who packs heat. It's just a bad vibe even if you don't get shot. Talk about performance anxiety.

And how people eat meat and leave that little pile on the side of their plate of, what, some part of the animal that they won't eat, what is that? And, I have actually eaten around people who..oh my god...sucked the marrow out of the bones....hurl. And on more than one occasion I have been with a person eating fish who..explain this to me.."got a bone" and I thought they were going to just lose it right there and it wasn't pleasant for me either.

I sit through it..and I don't complain...but I would rather sit near a cigar smoker. There is no "classy" (Hi PLiFfy) way to eat meat, as far as I am concerned.
But bacon tastes good!

Are you sure you aren't confusing Atlanta for the Cubbies. Even guys who just get traded from North Side to South Side wind up suddenly blossoming.

The whole "classy" thing was not my issue.

But, hi anyway!

Don't wear such low-cut dresses when eating out with guys who don't appeal to you.

(And, yeah, I guess the smell and sound would count as something objectionable in that situation - the "eating meat" situation, not the other one. Or, does that not narrow it down . . .)

I'm just wondering, has anyone ever asked one of these folks to explain why Jesus changed water into wine at the Wedding at Cana, and if the Bible meant "grape juice" wouldn't it have just said so?
You're forgetting the basic tenet of Puritanism, which, as Mencken so admirably put it, is "the fear that someone, somewhere, might be having a good time."

soon none of this will matter. How many of you outside of New York or Boston have any real hope for this year?

Cub's fans are a good example for the future baseball fan in most markets. We all need to start enjoying the unique ways to be defeated.

Spring training is just starting and only a few teams have any real hope of competing. The team that made the bigest off-season moves is the Yankee's?

My local team is little more than the Washington Generals, waiting for its versions of the globetrotters to come to town and kick its butt.

I can't imagine baseball will be anything like it is now in 20 or 30 years. There simply won't be the fan $$ to support it.

Why the death watch?
she's been doing the same basic act for awhile, what's changed lately? millionaires can maintain a beefy drug habit for decades.
