Shit, I'm not going to have a choice. Federalism it is.

What is it that you think Ted Olsen et al talk about at Fed Soc functions?

I hate to say it, but I don't think Alberto Gonzales is as bad as a lot of my liberal brethren seem to.

The way I read that is Jesus is saying be charitable, which I am. What I am saying is let me choose my charity. Not inconsistent.
For the current debate I think the "thou shall not kill" is the more important directive.

Don't forget, as the liberal saber rattling commences, who the ultimate safe fall back pick is.

You're confusing me with my assumptions regarding what the general public would think about Olsen. I ain't scared of no federalism. But to a lot of people, its a dirty word.
But as you said, to most people, it may as well be a brand of cheese, so its really a non-issue.
OK, elect Olsen. Do it fast and lets move on...
ETA: First douche to say "judges aren't elected" gets slapped.

I think its time to get a specialist on board. Was it Jimmy Lee Swaggert or Oral Roberts who actullay spoke with God?

I would think after Chappaquidick Kennedy would avoid the word roll entirely, but I'm no shrink.

I think they both spoke with God, but in Oral's case, God spoke back. Problem is, She doesn't speak English he got the message kinda fucked up.

Must have been Roberts. Swaggert, the more humble of the two, actually emulated Jesus and hung out with prostitutes, although unlike Jesus, his conversations with them included begging for golden showers and the like.
Federal court system justices aren't elected, by the way.

The best trial guy i've known had this theory- when a judge dies/retires lock the courthouse doors. get a list of everyone in the court at the time. the president can then pick from that as his shortlist. This way you'd get someone who at least has some knowledge of the trial function. Of course it doesn't work well at the appealette level.

Usually closed. At least at the Supreme court level, plus too many poseurs just there to say they've been there.

Novak doesn't want Gonzales. Maybe that is a good thing:
