And Alex sucks. He's made a straight series of bad choices now.
Who did people root for on TAR? The mother and gay son and Uchenna and Joyce are my faves this season.

THe problem with TAR is that I really like everyone who is left. Sort of makes it hard to be engaged.

This isn't really a TAR spoiler unless you haven't seen the last TWO episodes, so if you're that far behind, stop reading and go home and watch tv:
You like Ron and Kelly? Really? I want to rip her pageant head off and send him back to Iraq, where he clearly belongs since he can't stop comparing everything he sees to Baghdad. But it's nice to know that someone can become Ms. Whatever Carolina even though she has the nastiest skin I've seen in some time. I wanna know what kind of make up she used in the pageant.

Nope, I don't like them I forgot about them- they don't register. IF there is one thing you probably know about me its that I am not a fan of the born again beauty pageant types. Like she has grounds to call him white trash? What does she think she is?

Apprentice Spoiler Space For Those Who Didn't Watch Last Night (only because I discuss some of the candidates and their future chances)

well, she did do everything last night. she's pretty boring. that's my main beef with her - I think she'll get nixed in the interview process for lacking a compelling personality. I still give her some odds to win it though, if she can shine in the interviews.

He has always sucked (remember the Burger King task that almost got him fired?). He only seems passable as compared with the other rejects on the show. I've now talked myself into either Tana of Kendra winning it, but really that's only because the others disqualify themselves. Bren will shock me if he does well on the interview round.

I liked the brothers. Though they were dumber NotMe after a lobotomy. Now I'm sorta pulling for Rob/Amba and sorta for Uchenna/Joyce. Don't love any of them, actively dislike the pagaent bitch and her boyfriend and the grandma. I know it is unfair to hold the woman's old lady voice against her, but if I hear one more word out of Gretchen's whiney mouth, I'm ready to punch her.

TORONTO - A porn star’s first, and last, film about lesbian sex could end up boosting the coffers of Canada’s best known children’s hospital, if the agent for dead actress Natel King has his way.
Agent Stephan Sirard said he had approached Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children about accepting the proceeds from King’s last movie, “Lesbian Lover”, in memory of the 23-year-old Canadian star, who was stabbed to death last year in the United States.
But hospital spokeswoman Carol Duncan said she has not heard anything about the issue, and she declined to say how the hospital might react to a donation of this kind.
I would think the reaction would be "hey free money - let's take it" but I'm probably wrong.

It looked to me like the fan was trying to impede his fat friend in the red jacket from unintentionally interfering with the ball in play.

How do we suppose this marriage works?
From page six. Kevin Twinkletoes Spears sees a big ticket item he wants and he begs his sugarmommy for it? "Oh please, honey, its always been my dream to live in Vegas, and plus, I knocked you up here, per your demands"? I am sure big fat ice cream eating Spears is gonna love sitting at home eating ben and jerrys out of the pint while waiting for twinkletoes to come home from the stripclubs.
How lucky is this guy? He goes from having his car repossessed in July to marrying that ho-bag in Sept?

New Reality Show
TLC has a show coming on called "Sheer Dallas", which, from the previews, appears to show Dallas society women at their worst, along with hairstylists, etc. from Big D. No idea if there is any plot other than to make Dallas look bad, but I'll be checking it out of course.

Sheffield -- who maybe doesn't have the longest fuse in baseball* -- understandably took exception. The woman too his left pulled back too quickly, knocking into the guy next to her, who spilled his beer on her and Sheffield. Cooler heads then prevailed.

I think you're kidding yourself.
While I don't think he was trying to hit Sheff in the face, it was clear that he had no intention of trying to catch that ball. What he was trying to do was interfere with the play by getting in the way. He misjudged how close he was and made significant contact. In that atmosphere, at that point in the game, with all the history, he might as well have been taking a shot at Sheff. It was a stupid, stupid thing to do and the guy should be banned from Fenway.
The woman next to Sheff did indeed knock into the guy, but he had already decided to dump his beer on Sheff. It was completely intentional. If you didn't see it that way, watch it again. I'm sure you'll have plenty of opportunities to.
Sheffield showed remarkable restraint. If I was fielding that ball and some idiot hit me in the face, I would have pulled him from the stands and beat him to a bloody sock.
If that happened in the Bronx, the guy would have been tackled by security and the cops (who can't wait for something like this to happen) and arrested. What surprises me is that I haven't heard one person from Francona on up in the Sox organization come out and say that the kind of behavior exhibited by that fan is completely unacceptable. Francona's "I don't know...I don't know...It didn't look malicious...I don't know" is fucking bullshit. He might as well be saying, "See what you can get away with next time." If that had happened in the Bronx, Torre would have said that the fan's behavior was inexcusable and an announcement would have been made right after the play that any fan interfering with a live ball will be ejected and prosecuted.

It looked to me like he was trying to rake Sheff's face with his hand or hit him somehow, which Sheff has pretty much said that he did, although somewhat lightly. They should have kicked the fan out, at a minimum. The ball was already clearly a rolling grounder by then, and he was reaching well into the field of play and interfering with the player.
The Yanks have been a little classier this season than in the past, and I think that Torre and everybody reacted pretty well to it. I'm surprised that Sheff isn't getting much flack for the somewhat-cheap shot push on the guy before he even threw the ball back to the infield.

He was justified pushing the guy away from him. He said he wanted to give himself room to complete the play. He had no idea what some drunk fool who had already hit him in the face was going to do, so he made some room for himself and threw the ball in. I don't know how much of that I believe, but pushing someone who just hit you in the face is not a cheap shot. It was a reaction and he was justified in having it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I hate the Yankees, but I respect their fans; I like to watch the Red Sox, but I don't respect Red Sox fans -- I knew they could be obnoxious, but the overhype that has occurred after their championship has shown us what a bunch of fucking idiots most of these people are. It really makes me thank god that the Cubs pitchers are consistently hurt, b/c I could not handle the same overblown reaction in Chicago.

Agreed. I didn't see the whole thing (fucking ESPN kept promising to show it to me this morning, but I finally had to leave to get to work), but the descriptions I read and the teaser clips I saw made it sound like the fan was in the way, and hit Shef -- intentionally or not.
Glad to see that Gary didn't overreact despite the idiocy and provocation. TM is right that the Sox management should have reacted more vigorously about it, although it sure looked from the teaser like the cops/security got there pretty quickly, and the Sox players (Damon, at least) were quoted as deploring the fan's actions. There should definitely be a no tolerance policy at all stadiums regarding fan interference, and it should be announced at each game.
More disturbing for the Yankees is the fact that they hired a "life coach." OK, seriously, they should be worried that Randy Johnson has now had two mediocre outings in a row. Which of course leads to another edition of Yankees Schadenfreude Haiku:
Big Unit gets rocked.
Mo blows saves (but shows real class).
Cash updates CV.
