"Becoming a partner is like winning a pie contest for which the prize is more pie." Sebastian invented this metaphor. Sebastian eats a lot of pie and can only relate to events in his life if he can put them into pie metaphors. For Sebastian, everything is easy as pie (although I think that may be a simile). He has a distaste for humble pie, but he wants his piece of the pie. Sebastian does not cry over spilt pie. For Sebastain, pie is thicker than water, and he never throws the pie out with the pie water. He wrote this:

Sebastian invented it, right on these boards. I saw it happen. I remember being impressed with his capacity for abstract thinking. A fool and his pie are soon parted.

My haters feel like I'm better dead
But I'm quite alive getting pie instead
With a better girl with a better face
In a better place, getting better head

Forgive me, I forgot the First Law, as laid down in The Old Days by Paigow (sniff): Nothing ever existed before it appeared on the boards. She invented that.

LESS I found out I can get an EU passport. Other than being able to get shorter lines in the EU, and to impress chicks, what other advantages are there?

How on earth have Matt & Kim become popular? They're friends-of-friends of my SIL. My wife saw them in Brooklyn with like 12 people a few years back and thought they were terrible. She couldn't believe it when they were suddenly getting national attention.
The Hold Steady in Portland tonight!

M&K are very energetic in concert. Very, very energetic. Alarmingly energetic. Portions of the crowd appeared to feed off the energy, although for me it just amplified the horror of their music.
