I read somewhere else this morning that she was obliged to wear it for a charity gig. If she wasn't forced, then lord, she was certainly tricked.

And while we're talking 'charity', it would be a massive act of charity to the rest of the planet if someone could ensure that this chump never designs a dress again.

I also don't mind being reminded that I should what I can to preserve space on the server.

Berkeley police are on the lookout for a black 1987 Buick belonging to actor Sean Penn.
If I remember correctly, BUick made a muscle car for a number o years in the 60s and 70s called the GS. In the mid-80s, they revived it for a couple of years in a "Grand National" model. It looked kind of like a Dentist-mobile, but it was one fast motherfucker. They are now extremely rare and highly coveted among muscle car and vinatge car collectors.

Showing a flagrant disregard for server space there yourself.

(Oops.)

Well, I'll be damned. There really is a 1987 Buick Grand National muscle car. Found a pic in black. And I can just see Sean Penn behind the wheel. And two guns in the glove compartment.

I can also see why a car thief would pick this over all the beat-up custom-painted VW Vans in Berkeley.

Because I put Alannah Myles on my laminated rocker list, I'd like to exempt her from the "No wearing chaps" rule, especially if she still looks as good as she did when "Black Velvet" came out.

Or for God's sake, at least wear some decent underwear beneath 'em.
I think many of Christina's fashion problems would be solved if she decided (1) to wear underwear, and (2) to wear underwear under other articles of clothing.

Well, it's not a UNIVERSAL problem. I've only gotten a few PMs, and my box has never been full.

Bitches, every single one of you!

Damn. As it happens I have a soft spot for bad 80s rock histrionics.

She--and only she among all non-cowboys--is exempt.

Why Wine Costs What it Does

From the NY Times:

Why Wine Costs What It Does By AMANDA HESSER

LAST year, when Paul Hobbs, a California winemaker, was about to release his 1999 Beckstoffer cabernet sauvignon, lots of things were going through his mind. He had investments to pay off and a reputation to build on the wine, but he was also facing a market that had softened tremendously. It was up to Mr. Hobbs to determine a retail price that would let him pay off some debts and draw the attention of serious wine drinkers, yet be low enough that he could actually sell the wine, not just this year but for vintages to come.

Mr. Hobbs thought long and hard and decided: $135.

Why does one bottle of fermented grape juice cost $135, and another just $15? Americans consumed 14.9 million cases of California cabernet in 2001, according to a study by Impact, a trade publication that tracks the wine industry, and customers in a wine store, faced with walls of bottles that range in price from the low end to the high, confront the question every time they shop.

PMs

Yes, the limit is 15, and I did set it to save server space. As MR said the PM system is not meant to serve as an email system, I would think of it more as an IM system. If you want to save messages you have received you are best off cutting and pasting them into an email or something.

I am uncertain whether your out box impacts the number of messages, I will check this later when I have a chance and let you know.

I have been out of the office all day so I apologize for not responding earlier.

Wine Rec

Our friend the wine buyer came back from Napa last week raving about the 2000 Beringer Chardonnay Sbragia Limited Release. It should be priced around $40.

Anyone want to recommend something red for less than ten bucks?
