this would have been funnier if you had ended w/o the quoted paraphrase.
Well, maybe not funnier, but it would have taken less time to read, and would still have conveyed as much as the original.

No idea where to get it -- sorry.

I prefer it to "fish worship" comedy.

Q: What's the difference between roast beef and pea soup?
A: Anyone can roast beef.

Fish do not age well. Not at all.
Speaking of things that do not age well, today I got a call from my friend John. I left a message for John last night to let him know that our mutual friend, a bartender, wanted to get in touch with him but had lost his number. I had absolutely no recollection of leaving the message until John called me and only the sketchiest afterward. And I thought I was taking it pretty easy last night.
ETA: That story makes less and less sense every time I read it.

Fish are stinky. Old fish are stinkier.
The story makes perfect sense. You must be hung over. Wanna serve me some cake?

Non serviam.
I was more hung over this morning when I had to interiew a particularly perky* and loud summer associate candidate.
*I suppose that people will seize on the word "perky" and make nipple jokes, because that is the kind of place this is. So let me be clear - when I say "perky," I mean "spunky."

So, Grumpy McGrumperstein, did you tell him/her that you *hate* "spunky"?
