Apropos of apropos of nothing, I was recently in New Rochelle. It most definately would not be mistaken for Mayberry or Podunkville anymore. Queens, maybe.

When there I kept seeing signs for something called NEW ROC CITY, upon further inquiry, I found out it is this large apparently new entertainment "mall" there that is kind of frightening. Four stories of nothing but entertainment. Video arcade, small amusement rides, pool hall, movies. I think there might have even been go-karts. No ragtime though.

Second, it it true that I am never attracted to gay men, which is about the only positive thing I can say about my attractor mechanism. And Franklin is simply Phillipoussian in his attractiveness to me- the model paigow man. He also has, like you said, straight (not in the depth sense SD referred to te other day) hair, but in the ideal paigow hair- a little shaggy, a little tousled. And he did peace corp on Antigua or something. Doenst sound like a gay activity (NTTAWWT) and yes I realize this is a total generalization but bitch please.

As for the guy who isnt Wes or Franklin, he has that senstiive look in his eyes the straights don't have. I remember nothing else about this guy but that sensitive look and it is enough.

The thing you point out about Wes did not make me think straight, it made me questino whether the "who's the straight" premise was out amongst the mates, so to speak. EDITED SENTENCE THAT WAS TOTALLY ILLOGICAL THOUGH IT MADE SENSE TO ME AT THE TIME BC I AM EITHER STUPID OR A WACKADOODLEDO. The only thing that troubles me about this show is that a well intentioned gay man could end up with the straight guy, which is sort of humiliating if he didnt know the dilly-o going in. and lastly, barely, it might behoove you to know that that one guy in the dogpark a while back who you said was cute and I said, "gay" is indeed straight. or so he claims. But he is single, late thirties and slim. NTTAWWT.

EDITED to ask why the Mates did not get it on with each other, as RT once speculated was the reason there was no prior gay man reality show.

Glad to know my gaydar is getting better. And using the word "behoove" is so very Jamie Gertz in Square Pegs, which I wouldn't have remembered if my Tivo hadn't recorded an episode for me. Yay Tivo!

Also, I would think the fact that this whole show is taking place over the course of a week, and the fact that there are cameras everywhere, would keep the mates from hooking up. The stuff on QE is comped by the stores that they promote (hence the front of the store shot in every episode). I think that Wes might have had a little side sumpin' for Robb. Either that or the crying so completely gave him away as a gay man. And what gay guy wouldn't be into Robb? He was hot (in a very gay way).

When James said soemething about how he wants to prove that the gay s are just like the straights except for who they love and that they should be able to get married like Andra and her husband, I was astounded that she was married and looked for a ring, which she did not have on. What kind of marriage can she have if she talks to James every night for hours as I think she indicated. She looks like Carolyn Bessette (may she RIP) after a three day coke bender. The equipment is there to look pretty but it isnt happening.
