That happens a lot around here.

Spank. I understand you wish to put a coordinated "ignore" hit on me, and all that, but I have to say *by default* I haven't said a word today about my appearance short of self deprecating ann taylor comments or diet comments. a few, of which are interdispersed in the vernacular of the board.

Are you a control freak or sumpin'?

Agree. I was more trying to make pleasant conversation (on-topic, even!), which, possibly, would have led to the same result as in your original proposal.

Try a little more eye contact.

Well, not really.

But I don't care! Enough meta-conversations, please.

That is pretty much the crux of the problem. Some of us are trying to forget the French exist. Correct pronunciation pulls us out of our denial bubble.

Which reminds me -- I wonder if Wonk would french-kiss a dude if it meant he got to sleep with SJ?

I get confused by the Americanization of french words because in Canada sometimes we pronounce them more closely to the french. For example, I pronounce "foyer" as "foyay" because that is how I learned the word (in English) and people here actually say foyerrr. It sounds funny.
French Canadians changed all kinds of pronounciations, you know.

I actually use both. Always have. And I'm from the midwest.

I don't pronounce "garage" the french way, but my great Uncle from Louisiana does.

I agree, although I kept getting funny looks the last time I was in Baton Rouge.

So it's Cinnabon with a hard "n," as in bun. Noted.

Bouquet?

I think Spanky putting everyone who won't ignore whatsherface on ignore is the perfect solution.
