Is there such a thing as a business therapist? Some of my smaller clients seem to need them desperately. Why else would they be calling their lawyer to bitch about how their partner isn't appreciative enough of their efforts? Can I bill for my diplomatic attempts to soothe and reassure them and try to guide them to recognizing the other's contributions as well?

So you're saying he's been completely blind to it until Steinbrenner taught him some business lessons? And his first step into this new market is a $90 million one on an unproven player he will be forced to play every five days no matter how good he is because of the marketing deals he sets up?

I can't believe you are asking this question.

Both, of course.

And either (or, if the crowd is big enough, both of) mince meat and pecan.

Partner spouse or business partner?

Do they have a general client matter number?

What would the descrip be

"T/c with client regarding partner issues" .25

Pumpkin pie or apple pie?
Pumpkin, using the recipe on the Libby's can (of pumpkin, NOT pumpkin pie mix). Apple crisp. Pear-almond tart. Lemon tart. And this year maybe a chocolate-hazelnut tart.

Good for you if so.
Those people don't post here.

And I guess it was kind of hard to try to point to someone else on the board to make you feel better for this one, wasn't it?

That is the correct answer, though if I have to pick one, it is pumpkin.

Streusel or crust topping on the apple pie?

I can be a selfish ass sometimes, but I'm very matter of fact about it. others are asses and unaware or in denial. I know my limitations. I do not have the bandwith to counsel anyone at this time. sorry. keep it moving.

I used to work with a secty that was so pathologically self absorbed that she used to "regale" us with zingers about her mom in Sloan Kettering...just on and on it was like awful you couldn't drop something off for her boss without hearing an update in real time. Yes, it was tragic that she was living thru that but it was awful for everyone else around her as well, and you can times that by about 10. it's overwhelming, sorry.

I will make pumpkin, my sister will make apple. There will be harmony in the household. And lots of pie.

I'm going to make it from a real pumpkin, not the canned stuff. I'm very excited about the prospect, but I'm making a tester pie for another party later on this week, just so I don't screw it up for the big show. Let's say that the lemon pie at Christmas was not an unmitigated success.

In order:

1. Yes. They call themselves "consultants."

2. Because they like talking to you, and because you have to listen to them.

3. Absolutely. I do it all the time. I had one guy tell me that I was cheaper than his shrink and much easier to get on the phone.

You make about as much sense as an uncooked potato. And you look like one too.

Who said anything about tanking? IF they sign him at a reasonable price, there it is. If they don't the Yankees can bid $32M next year and see if they beat out the mets.

But I really, really want to tell them both (in one instance) they are both being babies, not to mention defensive and myopic.

I do not. I'm youngish and reasonably attractive for an office worker. I don't look like the old bag down the hall and i'm not an ugly dog. Even you've admitted that.

noX4. YOu cannot tell them that. see, in re: AbbaKiss and the "Big Mistake" rant.
