I think cherry and then pear are the best matches to the almond flavor. Chocolate goes with anything!

I'm with the sparkly equine on this. Cherry, almond and chocolate is a good combo. Raspberry would be my second choice, only because of the almond. I love raspberry and chocolate but think cherry goes better with almond than raspberry. I've never tried chocolate, almond and pear but that sounds decent.

Chocolate goes with all your options but almond and peppermint or almond and ginger would be a little odd to me.

Sounds delish. And I recently bought a box of about 40 vanilla beans (cheap!) so next time I see rhubarb I'm ready to go.

Yeah, when Wonk said that they worked surprisingly well together, it meant that the rhubarb detracted from the mango. Uh-huh.

At this point, I'm done trying to convince you to broaden your food horizons. Unless the National Rhubarb Council puts me on payroll (sort of like the National Council to Get Paralegals Laid did with GGG.)

Herbist.

Mint would work too, I think -- certainly with chocolate, though I'm not sure about with almonds.

Definitely not peppermint. But regular mint (is that spearmint?) would be worth a try. In small, subtle amounts.

does rhubarb even grow in California? I'm macro so I suggest eating only home grown things.

ps. do not type "delish" ever again if you want to gain respect in my eyes.

Honestly, I don't know what came over me when I typed that. Not that your respect matters to me, but still.

I don't know if rhubarb grows here. I don't see it much in stores, and don't remember seeing it at the farmer's market when I used to shop there regularly, so I suspect not. OTOH, most things, other than purely tropical fruits and veg....etables grow somewhere in California -- it's a big place with a lot of micro-climates.

But don't give me this "macro" shit. I once had the book "The Macrobiotic Way." It was co-authored by John Denver. If that doesn't drive a stake through the heart of this stupid idea, I don't know what will.

Yes -- but did you notice that once Adder pointed that out, GGG backed off?

Does anything not grow in California? I weep for your loss of artichokes and avocados. And good wine. What exactly grows in Detroit?

(I feel this is a metawhiff, but I'm not taking it back in any event.)

the one guy I knew who was macro told me that real macros won't sit in a chair one of us "dirties" sat on. they're fucked in the head.

but still, you are above saying "delish". ask Ty for a second opinion.
