I haven't listened yet, but my set came in yesterday. Looking forward to it! But I am sad that "Goin For A Ride" didn't make the cut. I had that one memorized as a kid.
Oh I'm going for a ride
Gonna sit behind the wheel
Gonna drive along the road
Oh how happy I will feel
And I'm gonna toot my horn
Gonna travel near and far
I'm going for a ride
Going riding in a car
And a car goes vroom...
And a car goes vroom...
And a car goes vroom...
Gonna travel near and far
Going riding in a car
Oh I'm going for a ride
And I'm never going back
Gonna be an engineer
Gonna speed along the track
And you'll hear my whistle blow
And I'm happy to explain
That I'm going for a ride
Going riding on a train
And a train goes woo...
And a train goes woo...
And a train goes woo...
And I'm happy to explain
I'm going riding in a train
Oh I'm going for a ride
I'm gonna sail the ocean blue
And I'm gonna be a captain
And I'm gonna have a crew
Gonna sail the seven seas
On the water I will float
Cause I'm going for a ride
And I'm riding in a boat
And a boat goes toot...
And a boat goes toot...
And a boat goes toot...
On the water I will float
Going riding in a boat
Yes, I'm going for a ride (vroom)
Yes, I'm going for a ride (woo)
Yes, I'm going for a ride (toot)
Yes, we're going for a ride
(yes, I had to google, dammit! my memory isn't that good)

Tragically, my parents never accepted "but Oscar gets to keep his room this way!" as an excuse for my slobbishness.
Neither does Mr. PJ. They're all so, so wrong!

So very very wrong.
I live alone, and am rebelling against the forced cleanliness of my youth. Hence, Oscar would love my apartment.

The Fugees? Speaking of yelping poseurs! Aren't they one of those rapper groups? How dare you mention them in the same sentence as Cab Calloway, although I always found his music to be a bit raw for my taste, too. What is the deal with rap anyway? It is just talking over somebody else's record. That. Is. Not. Music. But I think we can agree that those White Stripes are just abominable. So loud, and that horrible guitar wail. They cannot hold a candle to a nice group like the Kingston Trio. Whatever happened to musicians who cared about melody and tunefulness and nice harmonies? The problem with all this rock and roll crap is that these days it is all rock and no roll.

Has anyone seen that new show on HGTV or somewhere where neatness-addicts come and organize your stuff against your will?
I would meet those proselytizing freaks at my door with a swift, crippling whack to their nether regions.

I saw one episode once. My mom loved the HGTV and always had it on, and they were organizing some woman who had moved in with her daughter and son in law. And it was so awfully scary.
I would give um a swift boot out the door. I know where my shit is. It is piled in the corner. Under the other shit.

Male/Female Test
of course, includes stereotypical male vs. female knowledge areas, but with that caveat, here is a trivia quiz --
http://www.funtrivia.com/playquiz.cf.../dir/2089.html
I got 15/20 (I should have done better, I think). 1 "female" question wrong (and I was robbed), 4 "male" questions wrong. But you can bet I got the NFL and poker questions right...

Franklin speaks
Boy Meets Boy's last remaining straight man says he did the show to counter "ignorance" and says "there was never a monetary gain in my mind, ever." He also tells TV Guide, "I became emotionally involved and emotionally drained halfway through the shooting of the show. Of course, I was worried and I was very concerned that I was going to hurt someone, and I did not want to hurt James, let alone the other guys."

I'd really like for someone to come in and organize my crap. I have no sense of ownership in my disarray. Just a lack of ambition.
I would not, however allow the shrill, fashion-challenged harpies on the US What Not To Wear anywhere near me or my clothes. Fuckers.
Edited to note the trifecta. I will now return to the Breasticle board, where apparently all the cool kids are hanging out.

Mission Organization??? I love that show!!!
The people who get organized by the organizers acquiesce in the organizing. It's not like they sneak in while the person is out of town or something.
I have to say I did not like what they did to the sewing/designer lady and her mom -- too pink.

I like it too. They are welcome to do my place. Just don't touch my shoes. I am picky about that.
Did not see the pink one.

I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you. I had the polka portion of this week's Lawrence Welk Show turned up too loudly.
I'm a bit of a headbanger, you know.

NFL coverage
Anyone else watch the game last night? The sidelines reporter (Lisa something?) is not good. I know she is only there for eyecandy, but really. Is it enjoyable for the male football watching public to watch her interview people when she doesn't even know who is on which team? In her post game interview with Ramsey (QB, Redskins), she said something to him about him talking to his ex-teammate, Laverneous Coles after the game. Hey, chick, Coles is on the Redskins! The story was the he (Coles) was playing against his ex-team. WTF. Ramsey felt bad for her and helped her out of the crappy question.
