But really, how is a law school exam relevant? If a client or judge or whatever (who knows what the fuck kind of law you practice) said "hey, you look like a moron with the crap spelling/grammar," would you trot out your story and say that the client/judge was a social cripple who was completely unpleasant to be around? It's not relevant in that case, and it's not relevant in this case. Plus, it's the repeated errors of similar type that make it seem like stupidity, not just carelessness.

Why such the chip, spankme? You are making yourself sound stupider every second.

Hey, I know, let's have an "it's her or me!" contest!
Aren't you a little too fat for popularity contests?

Once in court the judge asked me if I was serious cuz he thought my brief was specious. I pulled out my LSAT scores and shut his ass right up.

Do you really need to have this explained to you? You are focusing on the law exam, instead of the experience surrounding the exam, just like your flair friend was focusing on the typo and not the substance of the argument. The point was not that Law School exams are important, or that they are good training for practicing law, but that one should focus on what is important. If the teacher had considered English grammar important, I would have focused on that. You seem to miss the part where I stated that I pay attention to grammar when it is needed. Like when writing a letter to a client or maybe submitting something to a judge. To me it is painfully obvious that someone who points out typos on a chat board has got problems of some sort. Why would something think that because someone made a typo on a chat board that that somehow made their argument less cogent? Are you seriously trying to support the idea that because I made a typo my argument was less logical or not well reasoned?

No one is defensive here. Why do you ask?

In all seriousness, I would reply to the substance of the argument, but I find the entire exchange speaks for itself as drafted. I haven't run the spell check yet though.

I guess when I have conclusively pointed out how stupid their arguments are, the only think left for them (and you) to do is accuse me of being emotional or over defensive. I would say that my comments have been very refrained and sensible. Are there specific comments that I have made in my postings that lead you to believe that I have worked myself into an emotional and defensive tizzy.

This is an old argument, spanky, and the ground has been well trod. Shit, some posters here are famous for their persistent inability to spell.

Going through the exercise of arguing ("conclusively" or otherwise) that references to poor spelling don't impact the substance of your argument is a waste of time. We are all familiar with this truism, and its articulation wins no awards.

At least some of those watching from the sidelines are either amused or irritated by the repeat of this spectacle, and if you don't get handed a medal for your performance, you should not assume this is only because we've all been forced into the corner with the force of your logic.

My advice is to either (a) take it as Hank-esque constructive criticism, (b) laugh it off, as many do, or (c) do as the rest do, simply call it "timmyism"* and move on. After all, there's still more for the class to learn about Perestroika.

All my posts have been responses. How come you think I am the one keeping this going? If you don't like this "spectacle" why don't you stop posting about it and post about something else.
