Presumably because you're fighting with other insurance companies over whether the reinsurance applies, as opposed to merely an insured company, right? It's like pay for working OT on a weekend when you're dealing with an insurance company on behalf of an insurance company, no?

The (rather successful) lawyer there whom I know is no longer listed on the firm's site, but is still listed with the state bar as being there, suggesting em recently departed under the radar.

orthogonal
In the Supreme Court the other day:
Quote:
MR. FRIEDMAN: I think that issue is entirely orthogonal to the issue here because the Commonwealth is acknowledging -
CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS: I’m sorry. Entirely what?
MR. FRIEDMAN: Orthogonal. Right angle. Unrelated. Irrelevant.
CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS: Oh.
JUSTICE SCALIA: What was that adjective? I liked that.
MR. FRIEDMAN: Orthogonal.
CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS: Orthogonal.
MR. FRIEDMAN: Right, right.
JUSTICE SCALIA: Orthogonal, ooh.
(Laughter.)
JUSTICE KENNEDY: I knew this case presented us a problem.
(Laughter.)
MR. FRIEDMAN: I should have — I probably should have said -
JUSTICE SCALIA: I think we should use that in the opinion.
(Laughter.)
MR. FRIEDMAN: I thought — I thought I had seen it before.
JUSTICE SCALIA: Or the dissent.
(Laughter.)
MR. FRIEDMAN: That is a bit of professorship creeping in, I suppose.

*Yawn*....2010?? Have I missed anything?
Hey, where are folks getting associate salary info these days? Seriously. Don't need it for myself, but for hiring purposes to see where the market is at.
