You're thinking of either the Freeport or New Berlin (IL) Pretzels...
Freeport - that's it. Good friend went there. He said opponents at fb games would crush up bags of pretzels to taunt them.

And how do those differ from your mascot, the Inflatable Dolls?

I think that she takes great pleasure in telling me when she does see them.
You would love to run into Pamela. You would love to run into these other celebrities. You would love to see the activities. Yet, ironically, it is Mrs. Chef, who has no interest in any of the above, who runs into the celebrities and sees the activities. This, however, is one of those situations where it is not becoming to use the word irony. Instead, when hearing this story, the proper response is to raise your eyebows slightly and say, "Huh."

but Flower. why would anyone not want to see celebrities? I do not understand. If this person immune to our starmaking media?
Is it jealousy? enuui? fear of crowds?
Do you not need to know this before you can recommend a response?

music and hockey

I realize that I may lose my hip indie music cred for admitting this, but I like Liz Phair's new album. Even if it is more radio-friendly (said in a derisve tone) than, say, Exile in Guyville. Uh, other than the fine "H.W.C.," that is. (I was reminded of liking the new album because I just saw the ESPN women's basketball commercial that uses a portion of "Extraordinary.")

In other news, after watching the Leafs bitch-slap the Flyers last night, I have decided that they will win the East, and will face the hated Red Wings in the finals. If Ed Belfour's back holds up, that is. Now that we can assume that my beloved Rangers will not be in the playoffs this year, I may even root for the Leafs from the get go.

And to combine the two topics, was there ever any confirmation of the rumor that Alanis wrote "You Oughta Know" about some Leaf player? Or was it Joey from Full House?

PLF, your use of the word "ironic" in that sentence is not at all gramatically correct, let alone stylistically proper. I'm shocked.* Please try and do better in the future.

*That is ironic.
