Yeah, but isn't Tyrwhitt cheaper if you buy online or via their circular? I like Tyrwhitt's slim fit shirts. Their regular fit are a little boxy for me, which is odd since it's London based.
I have Nordstrom shirts that I've paid $120 for and shirts that I've paid $65 for, so there's a pretty wide range. Tyrwhitt shirts start at around $120 and go up to $250, if memory serves.

Also, Nordstrom's pretty much has a sale going every other week, so you can usually get a deal.

Question, is that Sea Island Cotton thing bs? Or does it really make that much of a difference to pay for the xtra.

Also, this is an amazing blog for men's clothes [and women's]

Lastly, um, on a banker website it said that T Pink and CT are played out and that Hilditch & Key are what's hot? I think they are mail order only.

Tyrwhitt is much cheaper online/catalog then. They retail from $100-140, but you can usually get them for 40-50% off.

Haven't I said that this phrase should never be used? Pretty soon you'll be abbreviating "situation" and "whatever," rolling your eyes, twirling a finger through your hair and snapping your gum.

To respond to an earlier post, Gucci is just renewing its classic snaffle bit loafer, so they're very hot right now.

Sea Island cotton is wonderful, but Swiss cotton or Egyptian is even better. Definitely not an every day shirt, because one coffee spill and the shirt's history, but for dressier occasions, they're worth the extra bucks.

Shirts are not bought because they're "hot." Except by bankers, who everybody knows are the kind of kackasses who would buy shirts because they're hot.

And where can I get reasonable cuff links for women not including silk knots. Those are 10 bucks.
Why, Charles Tyrwhitt, of cousre. Don't you know anything?

See, now, the reason some might suspect you are not in fact a woman is that a Charles Tyrwhitt Classic Fit women's shirt fits a woman like a potato sack. Even the slim fit is cut as if a woman has no waistline and wants to avoid having anyone be able to tell she has boobs.

But the fabric is lovely.

Thank you, wonk that was very helpful. And, you are right, bankers are kind of tool like. [even if some are hot. heh]

Maybe based upon patentparanyc's build that is the look that is most flattering for her. You might have just unknowingly insulted her.

Oh CHRIST on a stick you are a snark. Yes, it looks like a gunny sack that is why I have 1 (one) Charles Tyrwhitt shirt and Three (3) Thomas Pink shirts since the T. Pink shirts accentuate said tits. mwarahw.

FWIW, the cotton on the classic is nice and the pattern and color is awesome too. the cut sucks ass.

I could be wrong, but I took the post more literally, as an exhortation that not Bob not shop at Jos. A. Bank (whatever that is).

Or I could be whiffing.

I don't think so. But even if that's what he meant, those words, strung together in that order, are no longer acceptable, whether used figuratively or literally. Sorry.
