And this is funny why? Very original.

ETA: it was a toss-up whether to give this comment on this post or the airball post.

*That is ironic.
I appreciate your effort to encourage mental discipline. But, it would be helpful if you provided us with a gramatically-correct and stylistically-proper re-write.

Copious hyphenation doesn't suit you.

You would love to run into Pamela. You would love to run into these other celebrities. You would love to see the activities. Yet, ironically, it is Mrs. Chef, who has no interest in any of the above, who runs into the celebrities and sees the activities. This, however, is one of those situations where it is not becoming to use the word irony. Instead, when hearing this story, the proper response is to raise your eyebows slightly and say, "Huh."
Try this:

You would love to run into Pamela. You would love to run into these other celebrities. You would love to see the activities. Yet, paradoxically, it is Mrs. Chef, who has no interest in any of the above, who runs into the celebrities and sees the activities. This, however, is not irony. Irony is the use of a term in a fashion that conveys that its opposite is what is meant. The proper response to hearing of these sightings is to say "Well, fuck all."

I believe you will agree this is much better. If not, then, well, fuck all.

Unconfirmed, but 95% likely it was Joey rather than Felix Potvin (who doesn't suck - at least not that much).

In the past month or so, my friend who lives in Victoria, B.C. has dined close to no less than 3 Canadian B-starlets - Pamela Anderson, Natasha Henstridge (whom you might remember from Species fame) and Tricia Helfer (whom you might not know, but I think was in that "making of Charlie's Angels" movie.) I guess it pays to be vegetarian in Victoria, if meeting these people is your aim.

I think she is a D-starlet. No wait, a C-starlet. No, wait--she's just changed her implants yet again....

Hey Gus, good to see ya! It's been too long. Can you do me a favor and nail Tom Izzo's ass for me? Some of my dead pool picks too -- nail their asses.

Heard on Howard Stern today that Don Adams' ass is getting nailed by non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Poor bastard. He would have been a good pick.

I am unconvinced. I am not familiar with this use of paradox. Also, you are using a very limited definition of irony. I think it is ironic that Chef wants to see the celebrities and does not, while Mrs. Chef does not care, but sees them anyway. I do concur, however, on the "fuck all" point.

I realize that I may lose my hip indie music cred for admitting this, but I like Liz Phair's new album. Even if it is more radio-friendly (said in a derisve tone) than, say, Exile in Guyville. Uh, other than the fine "H.W.C.," that is. (I was reminded of liking the new album because I just saw the ESPN women's basketball commercial that uses a portion of "Extraordinary.")

In other news, after watching the Leafs bitch-slap the Flyers last night, I have decided that they will win the East, and will face the hated Red Wings in the finals. If Ed Belfour's back holds up, that is. Now that we can assume that my beloved Rangers will not be in the playoffs this year, I may even root for the Leafs from the get go.

And to combine the two topics, was there ever any confirmation of the rumor that Alanis wrote "You Oughta Know" about some Leaf player? Or was it Joey from Full House?
Your best post ever.
For confirmation, you'll have to ask Larry David, but among my Toronto friends, the rumor has long been that the song is about Felix Potvin. This is the sort of shit that snopes.com should be investigating, none of this "wet cat in the microwave" crap.
