No - but it's not much better.
And I'm very literally about to lose my lunch, so let's talk no more of m/s - it will only encourage the inevitable.

Well, you really have to choose your battles. Vegan friend was reaching for a piece of fruit one day and her father said, "you're not going to eat that are you?" She said, "yeah, why not." He said, "well most fruits and vegetables are picked by non-union labor so you can't in good consciousness eat that." That's when the screaming match began and the "choose your battles" line was drawn. You can't fight every battle.

By itself, no.
Note: I am posting before reading, I'm sure that one was covered already, but it was too easy.

(no one that I knew took him up on the offer - when tuition is $2,000/year and rent is $200/month, one does not have to strip to get by).

I recall an ad in a college newspaper by the Sultan of Brunei, seeking 20 young, attractive wellspoken female students to act as "hostesses" at his parties during a 2 week tour of the country. Despite the assurances that this was a "decent" proposal and the attractive college women were just expected to wear an evening gown, socialize with his guests and make intelligent conversation, the $80,000 pricetag for the 2 weeks work seemed to imply otherwise.
To this day I regret that I didn't meet the height requirement.

Craving poll

That reminds me, a friend of mine is about 10 weeks pregnant, and I went out to eat with her maybe a week or so ago. When we were making plans, she sort of hopefully suggested that we go to a local mediterranean style buffet, and I had no problem with that. After her third trip back to the line, she confessed that ever since she got pregnant, she can't stop eating tobouleh, and I realized that pretty much every plate that came back was all tobouleh. I assured her that I didn't think worse of her for having a tobouleh problem, and she went back again.
Anyhow, I thought it was an interesting thing to get a craving for (and actually rather healthy too), and I figured it could be a good poll. What's the most interesting thing you've seen pregnant women crave?

It's actually pretty funny.
Oh, and Cheval... Daaamn.

Guess that SO's cat must not be lactose intolerant. His favorite treat is cheese. Doesn't really like any other people food.

God you women are lucky. I would whore myself out for a lot less than $80k.

So while the article is not interesting, the use of apostrophes in the article fascinates you and your apostrophilia makes you more interesting than someone who would focus on the substance of the article?
Thrasher, can I come over for beer and sports?

The first brisk day of the year, everyone runs to their closet to pull out the furs, and we end up looking ridiculous. I saw a beautiful mink this summer while visiting New Mexico, but there was no way I could justify the purchase given that there are maybe three or four days a year that I could legitimately wear it.

no need in BRC's neck of the woods except maybe one or two days every fourth year. its besides the point.

Gravy whoring. I would moonlight as a whore. It wouldn't replace my day job of being a lawyer, although it would essentially be the same thing.

Bullshit.*
*I say this not as an admin, but just as a general calling out on a BS statement. We have no way of knowing whether people who had access to that forum actually looked at the pictures. I'm not even sure if TF (funny initials) had access to the pics. I could check, but I'm too lazy. This note has gone on entirely too long. Perhaps I should end now? Nah, one more sentence should do. Perfect. Oops, that was two.
