Where I come from there is a shallow section of a major river -- it's maybe a half mile shore to shore and no more than two feet deep for most of it. Everybody takes their little power boats, motors out onto this shoal, drops the cooler and a bunch of lawn chairs into the water, puts the boat's television out the back, and just hangs. You've got to really adjust the contrast and brightness alot, or it's impossible to see anything.

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. Perhaps we can have Breasticle Day III live at my house if I can get the TV thingy taken care of. The pool is surrounded by woods on three sides and the house/retaining wall on the other so there is no danger of interlopers/freeloaders viewing your nekkidness. I will, of course, spend the day blindfolded.

Good points. Cats actually are intolerant of soy products, not milk. Just in case anyone is wondering. My cat loves to eat cheese, flowers, lizards, flies and house guests (or at least attempts to). Absolutely hates oranges and bananas -- runs like they are Freddie Krueger. Go figure.

I'm not sure where your father is coming from. Why does he find the American flag offensive? Is part of the lefty-east faction Canadian, and therefore feel offended and left out?

I hate to admit that this story makes your father comes off as one of those east-coast lefty types who give other east-coast lefties a bad name by insisting that even the mildest and most neutral forms of patriotism or vague pride in America or American "values" (however defined) are really just mindless advocacy of evil capitalist global geopolitical hegomony. I am sort of surprised, I didn't really think those people existed outside of Bill O'Reilly's rants. I might have been wrong.

If your da insists that the flag must have specific political content beyond "gee, we think America is pretty nifty and sure are glad to be here", he might do better to take the flag as a sign that the Red-faction cousin has come around to his way of thinking, and the flag is the cousin's way of advertising his belief in whatever great American values your father has been trying to get those barbarians to embrace all along, like freedom, tolerance, protection of the weak, equal justice under the law, progressive political discourse, etc. etc.

Well, I would feel a little odd about having a waving American flag atop the family website, just because it seems like such a non sequitur. At least it would in my family, in which I am the only lefty member. Does your family have members in the military? Own a flag business? Descend from Betsy Ross? In those cases I can see how it would make sense.

This explains a lot.

CatOdds loves sour cream, yogurt, and to a lesser extent milk, but she cannot stand the other food in the house which is mostly soy based.
