He's doing features now, but no longer anchoring. A huge freakin mistake.

Admit it. It's pithy phrases about mammals you both crave.

That's your issue, not mine.

I love watching sports, always have. I do not watch them to be more appealing to men. It's just who I am. Denying that would be like denying I listen to music, read books, or watch movies.

And I don't have diamond hard nips. In fact, I have no idea what that means.

I think my favorite commercial is the one where Jerry Stackhouse keeps cracking up about Trey Wingo's name.

And I was supposed to see Tracey Morgan at a comedy club but he canceled it b/c of his new sitcom. Granted, Tracey is very funny, but I don't see it translating to a show. The humour behind his skits is that they're so weird that you have to laugh. He's great at odd juxtapositions, but...I would compare it with Will Ferrill having a sitcom - wouldn't work. Neither of them can play a person who is even halfway normal...

Where is SD when you need him. I should find that post. She was talking about how she could wear six sweaters and three jackets and still get nip-ons so big you could hang a towel off of them. The most rEdickulous post ever. A timeless classic. Probably wins the award for most memorable post of the year.

Some gems in there, but this one caught my eye, because it brings to mind how my husband (who is fully aware, by the way, of the endearing quality I have of dispaying the more, uh.... cartoonish aspects of his character to all and sundry) is personally offended that Barnes & Noble allows people to sit around reading books for free. He feels it is a direct slight to him, personally, that people take advantage of the policy.

Sort of like, when for some reason (usually having to do with some school thing), we find ourselves out of the office in the middle of the day, he takes it as a personal affront that there are loads of people around who apparently don't have jobs.

There is no reasoning with him -- I have tried to explain that many people work nights, or work from home, or work a schedule other than 9-5 (give or take...) -- but to no avail. He's just insulted, dammit!

I understand why this is such a big story. But honestly, who gives a shit about his negotiated surrender or his arrival for booking? Were you one of the ones who complained about the stifling OJ coverage? Because you're doing it on your own. If you were a moderator here, would you break into someone's post to give us an update on what kind of car he arrived in or what he was wearing?

And, of course, some retire wealthy at age 30 something, right? Don't you find it a personal affront that you guys are still working with no end in sight?

Some do, but he seems more concerned about the types who don't look like they're volutarily retired. Why he cares is a mystery to me...

We are friendly with a family from my elder son's school, and the father of that family voluntarily retired with a boatload of dough (he is mentioned several times in that book, Liar's Poker). My husband has no problem with that -- in fact, he admires/envies it -- it's the people that have (in his words) "no ambition" that drive him crazy.

And of course, it drives me crazy that it bothers him so much -- clearly, we were meant for one another!

Oh, come on TM... First of all, I don't think I complained about OJ coverage. I just find this stuff interesting (this might even be one of my areas...), especially the fact that his people couldn't negotiate him showing up without being cuffed...

I just said the same thing at lunch, when someone pointed out the CNN coverage on the TV. I was reminded of sitting in a sports bar with 200 other Rockets fans in the middle of Game 5 of the championship and suddenly seeing a fucking white bronco going twenty miles an hour. And damnit all, we were ahead when the fucking white bronco showed up and losing when the people at NBC finally figured out their picture in a picture technology. It got ugly in that sports bar for a few minutes. Fuck OJ. Fuck NBC. I'd say Fuck the Knicks, but we won game seven, the series and the championship, so I'll allow them to win that particular game without a fuck off.

Have you tried to make him feel better about it by pointing out the fact that they make up the difference (and then some) by virtue of the profits that they make on coffee? I always buy a cup of joe ($1.50 at the B&N over in East Jesus next to the mall) when I read, uh, browse there. I figure that Juan Valdez's net from that cup is well under a cent, so Mr. Barnes does all right on the deal, even if I don't buy The South Beach Diet, or Skipping Christmas, from him and Mr. Noble.

And how does Mr Bill (oh nooooo!) feel about libraries?
