I have also had fried mac and cheese sticks at some restaurant in Vegas. See above.
I have never had a candy bar on a stick though, so I can't answer your question.

Thank you, oh Flaired one. At some point I got my BF to check out the board. A while back, he was talking to someone about the movie Office Space and the flairs. He turned to me and said "notcasesensitive, right?" You are a stah!

I love that movie.

Actually, I recently had occasion to recycle your Flaming Lips advice. Your warning was heeded!

Ding! Ding! Ding!
It's true that many very successful people want to keep on doing it. In fact, I was just talking with someone the other day about how Bruce Wasserstein and his ilk tried to retire, but just couldn't, because they got too much out of working. That's what I was trying to address with the Bill Gates reference.
As you sagely point out, however, those sorts of people do not have to deal with the same amount of bullshit because they call the shots. There is a huge difference.
Unfortunately, I have never had the sort of job where I call the shots. Lawyering is a service industry.
That said, next year, I am planning to go back to work in a small town practice, where I will make very little money, but the rewards (connection to the community, low-stress (relatively) clients, and job satisfaction) will be worth giving up my free time. Dealing with a bunch of blowhard bankers who speak in consultant-ese is most definitely NOT worth my free time. We all have different thresholds. That is mine.

That sounds nice. Be sure to PM Not Bob. I'm sure he has some helpful pointers for small town practice.

good things about IPOD

I haven't bought a bit of music any other way in 18 months. CD stores are going to go the way of the record stores, the way of the TV repair shop.
One question: why are cars so far behind in audio technology? Does anyone even use the regular cd player any more? All I have is an ipod shuffle specifically for the car that plugs right in.
I would love something with a USB port that allows me to scroll through the songs on an ipod.

i always heard technology will start having a shorter and shorter shelf life, but until this IPOD thing hadn't really seen a good example. Now with being forced to find a decent way to play it though my car radio I've tried all the shitty radio adapters and cassete adaptors and seeing all this effort to make that connection. Meanwhile I know every car made from now on will have an IPOD jack straight to the tuner.
In 5 years all that development will be the new "playing a CD through your cassette adaptor."
