that mock was based on TM's historical arguments that women gaining access to PGA tournaments through sponsor's exemptions do not belong there. in context, a mock.
I'm writing this in small print in the hope that TM will not pick it up on an opportunity to renew that debate.

Good point. But once Annika weaseled her way in, I figure it's fair game. What's the point of being upset about the same thing over and over? (Unless it's smilies in posts -- no exceptions for that.)
Besides, I think she has a better shot at actually earning her tour card than Annika.
And let me add that it amazes me that that's all you have to say about it. I'm not sure if you were the one I was arguing with (because back then, you and NFH were indistinguishable), but if you were, then what was the point of having the argument at all on your end? Isn't this the type of performance that you were looking for? And it came from a 14 year old.

Yes, I recall. But still. That is more of a nudge really.
That and it will result in exactly what it resulted in. e.g. that horrible discussion has returned. You fool. I curse your name ncs, I curse it.

The field was quite deep at The Sony. She is a girl (read: not a woman at the top of her game). She is a child. Unfuckingbelievable.
If she had made the cut, it could be argued that it would have been the most impressive thing ever to happen in the modern history of sports. I'm floored that it isn't being talked about that much. Floored.

Her outfit wasn't revealing enough. Nobody was watching.

Yes it was us, the nots, having this discussion. I think she rocks and for a 6' 14 year old kid, she can only get better.
As long as Tiger doesn't care (and it seems he doesn't) who gets the exemptions, then I will usually agree with Tiger on all things golf.
That said, Vijay was oddly silent about Michelle getting in on an exemption and I think that's what triggered the whole debate last time. The fact that he was a fucking asshole to Annika.
Apparently he's more afraid of Michelle kicking his ass, because I think, by the time she's out of high school, she'll be able to do it. And what fun that'll be.

I was not arguing it, though I was happy to see her play and I thought it was a great move by the Colonial folks, who are often overshadowed locally by the Byron Nelson tournament.
I did not realize that Wie almost made the cut, but I agree with you that her play is amazing. Sort of reminds me of Tiger's amateur days. I'm all for her playing on any tour that will have her. She should be great (er) in a couple of years.

Quite right.
And, FWIW, the monkey is an excellent judge of character.
(If you're scheduling, I'm in town at 2pm, though I only have a couple of hours.)

Unfortunately, I was unable to watch, though I heard a bit about it on the news. She's incredible, a true prodigy.
I was just wondering if you're now ready to back off your statement that no woman will ever be able to compete with the men at the highest level of golf -- however you want to define it. (I'm paraphrasing here.)
(Not trying to start an argument -- I don't really want to go there again -- but it sounds like you are.)

You people are idiots for failing to see that what she did is impressive from an athletic point of view. Take a step back and shove the Vijay issue up your ass. Her performance was extraordinary as a golfer no matter how she got there. We can argue about if she should be allowed to get in on an exemption before she plays. Once she's in, she's in.
