It might not be flattering, but she is still fucking perfect. Just focus on the cleavage.

Now that I have focused on the cleavage, I can clarify that one of the reasons she looks bad is because the placement of the waistline makes it look like her boobs are sagging down to her waist.

Yes.

Anyhoo, I thought people feared that someone was trying to blow up the world in the cold war era, what with the nuclear threat and all, (regardless of whether the perception actually matched reality), and that is when Bond was in his heyday, so why would the franchise have to change now?
|
I think the difference is that during the Cold War, the Bond movies became fantasy alternatives to the real dangers of the Cold War. The Soviets were the bad guys in the shadows, but Bond villains were these other guys, with caves and henchmen and Nehru jackets. Osama bin Laden would have been almost been too over the top to be a Bond villain. "We can't cast a 6'8" Saudi. We've got a 6'8" Turk and there are plenty of out of work tall Eastern European actors."
Now the bad guy bent on world domination living in a cave and sending out minions is a real person. You can't have Bond try to defeat al Queda, but take a detour to shag some Afghan hottie with a double entendre name.
"What's a pretty thing like you doing with such a sharp scimitar?"
"I am not a 'pretty thing,' you infidel. I am Sufi bin Burnah."
"Well that outfit is a bit more form fitting than a burkah, Miss bin Burnah."
"All the better to trap you, Mr. Bond."
"So now that you have me, what are your plans with me?"
Feel free to continue the story on your own or substitute a better double entendre name. I'm a bit rusty in that department, and I don't think you could have a "Who've you bin Phuken?" joke.

I got a call from a charitable organization that does something or another for police officers on Monday night. I think the "charitable" part exempts them from the "do not call list."
The guy who called mispronounced my name, so I claimed not to be there. He started off his spiel with: do you think, now more than ever, that we need to support law enforcement personnel?
What asshole is going to say no to that? No one is going to say "no, actually, I think the police are sucking on the government teat, and they're doing just fine." Not when the guy is calling your home phone number. So of course that's how they suck you into agreeing to give money to an organization whose purpose is unclear.
Anyhow, the guy said he'd call later when "Ms. Texan" came back from vacation.
What, exactly--besides giving you bumper stickers that you can put on your car to avoid speeding tickets--do these organizations do for cops?
|
Most of these "chartiable" organizations aren't actually charities. They are for-profit companies posing as charities and claiming some relationship to a fraternal or other organization.
You should check into it. Research the company name they give you, etc. Ask them over the phone to say whether or not they are a charitable organization (sets them up for fraud). Ask them if your donation is tax deductible (that's what tipped me off - we made a donation and the receipt came back saying "Not tax deductible").
Then, if you find out what I found out when this same thing happened to me, you forward the results of your investigation to the attorney general and laugh your ass off five months later when you see the news report about their offices getting raided.
If I thought they had any assets, I woulda sued the assholes myself.

This type of thing is priceless. I still "take notes" like this during firm sponsored CLEs or other firm related things. I have one page framed and hanging inside one of my cupboard things in my office.

I'm guessing this will be a STP moment, but did anyone else think "ouch -- papercuts where the sun don't shine" or something of that nature?
