Making sense
I sorta understand now why erosion of women's rights in Iraq is allowed to happen with this administration in charge.
Quote:
WASHINGTON - Supreme Court nominee John Roberts disparaged state efforts to combat discrimination against women in Reagan-era documents made public Thursday — and wondered whether "encouraging homemakers to become lawyers contributes to the common good.

I don't think it implies anything one way or the other about that, but it certainly refutes the suggestion that any such thing rose to the level of vandalism.

Penske said that Clinton staffers stole "w"s and you said the story was "bogus." what you really meant is that if Penske felt is was vandalism he was wrong, it was really just a prank?
1 you really don't think stealing things that will need to be replaced isn't vandalism?
2 do you really classify types of theft IRL?

The GSA makes it pretty clear that no one was "stealing things." The only interesting question is, why were conservatives telling stories about vandalism that never happened?

The full GAO report is located here:
www.gao.gov/new.items/d02360.pdf
Go to page 47 for the discussion on keyboards and missing "w" keys. As is usually the case, the "truth" lies somewhere in the middle.

[list]No Truth in Clinton White House Vandal Scandal, GSA Reports
by David Goldstein
The agency concluded that departing members of the Clinton administration had not trashed the place during the presidential transition, as unidentified aides to President Bush and other critics had insisted.
"The condition of the real property was consistent with what we would expect to encounter when tenants vacate office space after an extended occupancy," according to a GSA statement.
No wholesale slashing of cords to computers, copiers and telephones, no evidence of lewd graffiti or pornographic images. GSA didn't bother to nail down reports of pranks,
Among those pranks was the apparent removal, by aides to former President Bill Clinton, of the "w" key from some computer keyboards and the placing of official-looking signs on doors, saying things like "Office of Strategery," after a popular "Saturday Night Live" spoof on Bush.
|
By glaring inference what this says is that "w"s were stolen off the keyboard and a host of other puerile misdeeds were done to government property in a display of partisan hostility.
Pathetic, disappointing and juvenile, just like the Clinton administration.
And despite the proof staring you in the face, black and white, you refuse to acknowledge or apologize.
No.personsal.responsibility.ever. New Demo mottto!

Ty's article says:
- GSA didn't bother to nail down reports of pranks, which were more puckish than destructive.
Among those pranks was the apparent removal, by aides to former President Bill Clinton, of the "w" key
violins report isn't 'in between" it reports facts relating to missing w s.
It was a joke, I'm sure and a minor one. but what causes me to post here now is that Ty somehow read the above quoto from his article as saying the missing w s didn't happen. Huh? I post this only to show the lack of credibilty problem.

Well, yes, but she hadn't been a housewife before becoming a lawyer, now had she? She probably went straight through. Maybe stopping to work in DC for a year between college and law school.

Actually no, the story implicitly makes it clear the "w"s were stolen. Also, damage consistent with an 8 year possession was done, which, if you have ever done any commercial leasing work, you would know could be quite substantial and evidences that these hucksters have no respect for our government or the people at whose pleasure they served.
Ty, please, please, come to grips with the criminal enterprise you are desparately clinging to support of.

No problem Hank, there is no longer any credibility residing with the posters on the left side of this board.
