Yeah, and this isn't a bell curve, either. There's a huge chunk of people who get married right when they're first able to. And one of those low on citations blog posts says that
Quote:
Sociologists have found that couples who marry at younger ages are significantly more likely to divorce. The younger they are, the worse it is.
Now, who is a "younger" bride? Definitely someone under the age of 20. That, there seems to be no debate on. Teenage marriage, is on a trend-level, and sure there's always exceptions, not a great idea.
After that, there's some debate, and it's changing along the way. Because of increasing numbers going to school, etc., a young bride in the 1980s was probably 20. Now, a bride might be considered "young" at 22 or even years later.

It seems like generalizations about "never going to be married" shouldn't be based on "has the person married by the median (or mean) age of marriage." Since median and mean are both kind of middle-y things.
And I'm past my sell-by date too. But probably CA has a lower incidence of marriage than the norm?

Are you reading these quotes off an old Trapper Keeper notebook that is decorated with little doodles and notes about the cute guy in class?

1. I miss trapper keepers. Or, I miss the folder things. I always had a hard time picking an actual Trapper Keeper because I didn't like the pictures very much and the solid colors were too bright. Or something.
2. My twitch is still gone.
3. The sky is, once again, blue.

Apropos of teachers, I feel I have to sing the praises of the Honey Crisp apple. Although I am not one to hop onto trends, I understand that this is the latest sensation in the apple world, and for good reason, I say. You can find it at Whole Foods!

I have long despised Theisman. I'm hoping that putting him on MNF this year will finally get him enough national exposure (and therefore enough criticism) that the idiots at ESPN will have to can him, but probably not. The guy who runs my main elimination pool really really hates him and has started sending out e-mails each week with "THEISMAN IS A DIRTY LITTLE WHORE WHO DESERVES TO DIE" quotes of the week from the MNF game. This is getting a bit old, even to me, as it just reminds me each week that he is still on the air.

eta: Though I suppose I could be reading to much into it. Maybe he was just complaining about what an idiot Theisman is while you were coming from giving him a blowjob, but you were watching Seinfeld reruns or something.

Everytime I see Theismann, I think about his leg breaking. I can't even see his name without feeling a little squicky.
FWIW, this is partly because I broke my leg in the same place, at around the same time, and in a similarly graphic way. Though much worse.

The folder things are Trappers. You keep your Trappers in a Trapper Keeper.

I think I went with the Trappers inside the denim blue binder. My favorite class got the blue Trapper, then green, and so on. Red was for the least favorite class.
Redwelds are Trappers for lawyers. Discuss.

I think the same rationale for letting Bill Walton anywhere near a microphone is used with Theisman.
ETA: Chris Collingsworth is also on my list of despised yet inexplicably promoted sports commentators. I thought doing local games for the Oilers in the 90s was the kiss of death for any commentator, but apparently not.

What rationale is that? The only one I can think of is "he brings the beer."

"People hate him, so he must be saying something provocative. We haven't received so many angry letters in years."

Get with the Digital Age, my friend. Redwelds are old yearbooks. The laptop is the new Trapper Keeper.
