I ask this honestly, because, in any other field, you will be starting at entry level or even a little bit behind the ball, because you will be fighting the assumption that you will eventually get tired of being poor and go back to the law.

Assuming you can live on $16-20,000 a year, what was your college major? Can you translate your writing ability into journalism? Do you think you can do sales? How are your computer skills?

Pick uo the want ads and look for jobs that don't require experience. Apply cold for kobs that interest you where you can build a strong case for a smooth transition.

And, unless you plan on using it to give lessons, sell the big piano. You're going to need the money.
My hippie friend is a leasing agent for apartments.com (or something similar). He gets 1/4 of the first month's rent of every apartment he leases. He said that the top agent at his place makes $150k+.

Just the other morning he rented a $4000 place to four guys. A quick $1k. He spent the rest of the day smoking pot and playing with his dog at the beach. He said that if he actually tried, he could easily make six figures...and all he does is drive people around and show them apartments. He has gotten high with two potential renters, and chooses when and how often he works.

It took this guy 10 years to graduate from college.

I don't think ABBA smokes pot.

I'm not sure if there's a specific department in MN for tunnels, but I think she wants out of construction law altogether.

I know. I'm groaning, too. I am ashamed.

Judging from the competition exhibited on this board I have a promising future in comedy.

Not to knock Lake St. Croix, but you might feel differently if you lived in San Diego.

It's not the quality of the beaches. It's the fact that I hate animals.

Well, I guess that's settled, then. I'm glad the board was able to help you with your career conundrum. Good luck!

BTW, that would have been the better direction for a "boring" joke.
