I have never understood why the traditional romantic date involves a nice dinner, or more specifically, why anybody plans to have sex after a traditional romantic date. I usually feel too full after the risotto to want to romp around, and if I had a few drinks during the evening, I will likely be asleep by the time that full feeling has passed.
If I am really hot for a guy that I'm out to dinner with, I'll eat light.

I heart rp.
I also heart risotto, and sleeping after a big meal and some liquor. But my favorite time for sex is the a.m. anyway...

No. That wasn't the point. nfh/ncs' point was, although they may be able to have children, they don't want to hear about how empty their lives were without them. Hearing that you should have kids when you CAN have kids isn't harmful. It's annoying. That's the point.

Nice response.
I am still trying to not reach through the screen and smack Thurgreed and Greedy. Especially Thurgreed.
The point is, many more people will be offended by your comments than you think. Rather than assume you will offend a very few, assume you will offend a great many.
|
Either read the posts I'm responding to or smack yourself around. That wasn't the point at the time. That point is a given. My point was that I'm sick of hearing people tell me how offended they are of people telling them how great their lives would be with kids when the complainer is perfectly capable of having kids, just chooses not to.
Jesus Christ. I'm not saying you should go around telling everyone to have kids. Pay attention.

This is apparently quite common. My sister, an OBGyn, hoped to avoid making an already uncomfortable situation (having her pal look at her crotch) even worse (and then pooping on said friend) that she went to great pains to ensure that she did not have enough food to create any fecal matter near her due date.

Me too. But late morning. All through first year of law school this guy and I would have sex a lot of days after our first class in the morning, because we seemed to have from about 10:40 - 1:00 free most days. He lived on campus and it just kind of worked out. Anyway, that was great great sex. We had sex all year in the morning and only really ever went on one date. It was weird. The next year he had graduated and I was almost conditioned to get horny at that time of day and he was gone! damn him.

Ditto. Except for the risotto. I also enjoy a little sex right before going out to dinner. perhaps a quick lift of the skirt when I aint looking?
Tip for the single men (and I dont even think there are any on this board)- you can tell if you are gonna get laid on a date by the amount of food consumed by your date. Bet you didnt knwo this. Not alcohol. Food.

If ever a post belonged on the lawyers with kids board, it is this one. THis is beyond TMI. Did not need to read or know this. I would rather read an eight post catchup featuring Wonk talking about fucking and RP's tits.
RPed to add that I do appreciate you did not bring up the subject of corn. If SD ever blesses the world with little Dangerfield's I do not want to hear the story of the childbirth.

Sounds fun. I was using a.m. loosely to mean "whenever the hell I get up". Frequently that will turn out the be the p.m. And I agree with paigs about pre-dinner sex too, as long as it is not so strenuous as to knock me out afterwards. Ah, sex talk...

Anyone seen the Dave Attell/Lewis Black comedy tour yet? I'm going to see it tonight. Will report back...

Taken with the previous posts, this seems to mean, light dinner = getting laid.
So long as she ORDERS light, fine. Just don't order the motherjumping pricey and huge Surf n Turf and pick at it all night. Not much annoys a guy more than running up a big tab and not eating (assuming they are paying)...
On the other end of the (truck) scale, if your date orders and consumes one of everything on the menu on her own, your leftovers and those of every table within a 25 foot radius, pretty much any thought of sex has long left the guy's mind... Of course, YMMV.

Happiness, Panic, and Good Decisionmaking

I've unfortunately seen and been involved in a good number of panic inducing events. I find that there are a couple different ways of responding. Some people, the panic shuts down and they just deal, very calmly, with whatever is going on.
Others freak out and make it difficult for the people who are calmly trying to deal.
Still others just freeze, and at least they aren't in the way of the people calmly trying to deal.
A friend who is in the Army told me that one of the biggest problems they have is when they go to war they never can know whether someone they just put in charge of a bunch of kids will fight or flee. And he also said the people you think are bravest are just as likely to cut and run as the ones you think are cowards. There simply is no control over it, you are either a fight or flight person and that's that.

Us single guys do know this. That is why we attempt to pour as much booze down our date's throat as possible, so she'll be too full to eat and too drunk to say no.
