I prefer the black t-shirt, shiny red leather jacket and shades to highlight my buzzcut. And I always carry my bass around, because you never know when some hottie is going to ask you to wail out on the theme from "Barney Miller." Now that my friend is a show-stopper.

I understand- I think- traditionally it meant one stepped on a subtle joke by stating the funny part as if it were a follow up that wasn't intended by the original post. I also think it grew to mean simply one missed the real meaning. Perhaps that is a bastardization, but still one cannot control word usage.
Under this second meaning I thought it might be clever to say "whiff" to someone attacking a nfh's news post. The whiff implying there is something much deeper going on in the news post.
That might make your last post a whiff under the original sense?
Did you call Basedow?

No doubt. For the flute (especially jazz flute), the turtleneck and blazer look is a must.

So, Flower, what's your advance press on them? I think they sound a bit like The Killers, but apparently I'm not allow to repeat that out loud. For fear the members of the band hear me.
Jack should go hear them at Cafe du Nord in SF on Friday night and report back here.

Newsflash
When sending IRL emails within your particular firm or company, note that the phrase NTTAWWT is not yet universally recognized, and may cause considerable confusion. Use with caution.
Also, resist the temptation to call responders to the email in question Timmies.
Carry on.

Just for the record, no one is wearing anything kimono-style in these pictures. I do not opine on whether anything is PLF-style.
Speaking of kimono-style, I recommend Hero highly. Great movie, beautiful movie, set when the Chinese still wore the sophisticated long-sleeved robes that the Japanese admired and copied, giving rise to the kimono - alas, the Manchus came and changed china's basic form of dress to something functional with much more embroidery and much less drape.

I have encountered similar confusion at work over the use of "TITS!" in email. You'd think people could figure it out.

On the subject of TV premieres, did anyone catch the debut of "Tilt"? Worth watching? Even when you've already heard the good lines?

Not since I first called.
And a response to a NFH post cannot be any type of whiff as the post is a mere repost of someone else's entertainment news reporting and there is no original content (ie thought and intention) going on in there. I assumed you used v.3 of Whiff- the mockwhiff.
And I believe I can control word usage.

I am pretty sure I remember the 80s, and I am pretty sure that they were not as fun as everybody seems to think they were.

But I bet on it, so that makes it OK.
P.S. I had to stop watching the RR/RW challenge when Tonya was booted. There weren't any good looking chicks left. And only one hetero one (I think, since I can never remember whether Arissa or Ayanna is lesbian, or both for that matter).

Angelina Jolie is blasting those rumors that she was a third party in the breakup of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s marriage — and in the process, she’s pretty much confirmed buzz that Pitt was miserable because he wanted to have a child.
“I’ve been painted as the Wicked Witch of the West and a marriage wrecker. But all I’ve ever been to Brad is a shoulder to cry on,” Jolie said, according to the London Sunday Express. “Half the world believes we had an affair and I’m the one to blame for his split. But the truth is I was there to try to help him through his pain. He longs to be a father and he’s been in emotional turmoil for a long time because that hasn’t happened for him.”

Wait a second. Brad and Jen are breaking up? Hey -- now I can make my move! ( on Jen, of course...) Woo-hoo!!
