Tax Advice Needed!!

Stop laughing!) will find a handy-dandy loophole from this, the cruelest cut of all.

Taxes suck.
Looks like the answer is still no, but this link has a lot of info:

I know you've got a crush, but have you really been working on this for two days? That's so sweet.

No need to wear spike heels, just ride a horse to the bar. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has ruled that a horse is not a vehicle.

My favorite quote is from the dissent:
Quote:
A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
but the Vehicle Code does not divorce
its application from, perforce,
a steed as my colleagues said.

It's not vague,' I'll say until I'm hoarse,
and whether a car, a truck or horse
this law applies with equal force,
and I'd reverse instead.

Sebby, if you ever appear before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, will you please let me know in advance? I'll spring for the whiskey of your choice afterward.

This whole [heh -- I almost wrote "hole"] exchange has given me a wicked pissah case of the giggles. (No, I don't know why I said "wicked pissah".)

Duuude -- whaddaya mean "no"? That's exactly the section I was remembering when I thought I found a handy-dandy loophole through which to dump my enormous pile of cash! Ownerhip test -- check. Use test -- check (so long as you can accumulate days like that, and the years don't need to be continuous.)

That reminds me -- I have a friend who is married to this really rich guy (rich as in "There are wings of the LA County Museum named after his mother), and they moved to Seattle so they wouldn't have to pay state income taxes after her husband sold part of his sizable art collection (this dude's parents were painted by David Hockney -- that painting hangs in the Chicago Art Museum). Anyway, the point of this whole story (well, besides the patently obvious ploy to make you all think I am really special by bragging about the rich people I know) is to say that in order to take advantage of the "no state taxes" thingy -- they had to spend a certain number of days a year in Seattle. So, maybe there's something to that after all...

(Don't worry folks, I actually have retained non-imaginary legal counsel -- but she's on vacation until Monday.)

I used to lie and say that my car was only visiting California so I didn't have to pay registration fees there. Texas rates were much more reasonable.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

Tiggergate, part the next one

The man who was cleared of groping a girl in "Tiggergate" at Disney has been recharged, this time for groping while playing "Goofy."

Humph. I think the guy would be better off if his simply keeps the Goofy-head on.

Oops, she didn't do it again?

When white trash marries white trash and there's a week delay in getting the license, what are the chances of the whole thing busting up beforehand? 50%? 70%? 90%?

Quote:
Britney Spears most definitely got married last week, People magazine reports in its Oct. 4 issue filled with pictures of the pop star and her fiance, Kevin Federline, in wedding apparel and surrounded by family and friends.

What the couple didn't do, according to the Los Angeles County registrar's office, is file a marriage license after the ceremony.

No big deal, says a member of the singer's camp who declined to be quoted by name.

"They're scheduled to file it next week,' she told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

Federline, 26, said the delay was caused when the couple moved their wedding date up to Sept. 18 as word leaked out that they were planning to be married on Oct. 16.

Moving the date up a month, he said, didn't give their lawyers time to finish their prenuptial agreement.

Isn't that Steve Buscemi's (or however you spell that...) twin brother?

I think my friend who got groped by Goofy wouldn't be as amused by the whole thing if she'd seen him without the mask.

Puking with Farrell

FBetty Poll:

You get to hang out with Colin Farrell. Upside? Well discussed. Downside? The substantial risk that he'll go completely blotto and barf on you not too long into the evening.

Fair trade?

Gattigap

From the Defamer:

  • Warner Bros. has pushed the release of Alexander back three weeks to better troll for Oscars. But we hear the studio is terrified to unleash Colin Farrell, the (rumored) generously be-donged Irishman, on the press because of his tendency to show up to every appearance shitfaced. Apparently whiskey fumes visibly rising off of a movie star are not as charming as they used to be, as one studio bigwig supposedly took a recent pass on Farrell after he pounded a handful of beers during a half-hour meeting. It's official: Colin Farrell is our new hero. He can puke in our car anytime, and we'll even pretend to be cool with it.
