I think the last sentence explains the issue best:
"Under current state law, the governor would appoint someone to fill the remainder of Kerry's term, which is set to expire in 2008."

If Kerry weren't around to cast the deciding vote on some issue, any moisture on Romney's part would be crocodile tears.

I was thinking this yesterday, but refrained from commenting til we know more about the Somali. Seems strange to me that his focus shifted from NYC targets to malls in Columbus. Did he get demoted, or is he on the AQ b-team?

Excellent point, Hank.

Apparently, Kenny Lofton came off the DL and there was no room for him. Joe Torre simply sent him down to the AAA farm team

We already knew you are disabled, Hank. I'm just shocked at how long y'all's STD policy is before you end up in LTD. Perhaps you are gaming the system to get higher benefits.

Because it's a clear violation of church and state. The message is clearly a Christian position. Jews don't say retarded things like "have a blessed summer" or "blessed" anything for that matter.

Come now, that's no establishment of religion. It's like the pledge case. No one would care at all if the pledge said, "one nation, under Allah, etc." It's just not a big deal.

Just wait till NY has to deal with the things we here in SF deal with all the time. This could get real ugly real quick.

Although I know you are joking, that statement is the equivalent (offense wise) to calling Arabs towelheads.
