Benedict?!? Why not Boniface?

If I were pope, I would choose the name Urban Innocent (because it sounds like a rock band.) That may be the reason I never become pope. I can't think of anything else that would have stood in my way.

God fucking damnit, they went with the German.

At least he's old.
I heard the hispanic guy was promising to make the pope-mobile a lowrider

Can you pick any name you like? I'd go with Chuck. Pope Chuck the Pragmatic. I'd commission a papal crest with two sleeping golden retreivers on either side of me on a throne, with a ribbon embrodiered with the word "Eh..." underneath. Kinda captures the state of the Church these days.

Except maybe that vagina.

I like Urban. I think Benedict is too, something - I can't put my finger on it. Maybe too close to Benedict Arnold or something. Also a big fan of Pius. Pious?

What about the TITS? So Phil Mickelson has a chance?

She's a Jewess. There are operations to changes one's gender, but a disbelief in Christ is pretty much a blackball on any Prince of Rome ambitions- one can't lead one's flock to heaven, when one holds a ticket to elsewhere.

Or Bonaduce. But I guess that could only happen if the College of Partridges was doing the electing.

I made 5th Ring Wizard in Everquest yesterday. You should see the size of my staff.

In comparison to the thoroughly unconventional characters on AD (GOB, George Michael, Maebe and Buster), Cross's character is just a string of double entendres.

Bateman still has the best lines, though. All-time best (from last season): "Is it just me, Linds, or does this rape room have the exact same layout as our kitchen?"
I dont totally agree with you on David Cross but I get your point. I still think the Nevernude bit is hilarious and the blue man group thing was really funny. The Mrs Featherbottom thing was a little eh but I liked when Ron Howard said that it was exactly the bit from Mrs Doubtfire.

Jason Bateman has too many great lines to remember but that line from the last episode about Franklin being able to go to the country club was priceless.

This show cannot be cancelled. Don't you think maybe NBC would pick it up, or WB or comedy central? Fox completely has not promoted it and I still think there is room to grow an audience. How is the NBC version of the Office faring? I didnt watch after ten minutes into the first one bc it was the same thing as the british version but I heard it veered into its own writing and was quite offbeat and funny. too bad i foroot about it. maybe if that is successful, nbc might try more quirky stuff and save Arrested Development. Fox has practically killed it.

There is no linear storyline to the show, which probably confounds a lot of would be viewers who'd prefer to be spoon fed the traditional "Joke starts at beginning and then comes around to punchline at end" sitcom pap. That said, AD has veered a bit too far into absurdity. I didn't think much of the seal biting off the hand story. But on the whole, even when it shits the bed, AD is 5X better than 90% of television.
Its like you don't even know what bedshitting is.

I hate to get all NFH, but Fox, of all people, is drumming up support: http://www.getarrested.com/

Not that people signing an online petition has ever changed anything.

My local English bar here (where I am now 4-5 years older than the average clientele -- this used to be MY place!) has 23-yr old dorks wearing blazers all the effing time. I was lucky to not put my 3/4 length t-shirt on backwards at that age. You shouldn't dress up for a place that sells Boddingtons.
Its like you keep getting older but the girls keep staying the same age.

I like the US version of The Office. Steve Carrell has modified the boss character into his own jackass style and the guy playing Dwight (formerly Garrett) is excellently creepy. It is a little more hit-you-over-the-head with the joke in its style than the British one, but I think that NBC is mainly correct when it assumes that the American public needs that.

It is not purported to be doing well in the ratings. USA Today had it as a "bubble" show last week - unclear whether it will be picked up for next season.

Yes, I always read USA Today when I travel. Unless I have the current People or In Touch.
